I earned my double bachelor's in religion with a biblical and theological and apologetics concentration, and I am now in the middle of a quadruple MDV in biblical studies, theology, apologetics, and healthcare chaplaincy I am truly very happy to be at Liberty, the veteran's military discount is really great, God really used Dr. Fallwell in an amazing way in creating such a great place to learn the truth of God's Word, it is conservative and bible based education as it should be.

How did you feel about your language courses? How much time per week would you say you spend on a class?
@Theoforge Жыл бұрын
@@interstellarsynthesis5654 sorry I just saw this (KZbin failed to notify me) With language courses you will spend a considerable amount of time each week working on the language. Besides the required vocabulary each week will also have some sort of grammar portion to be memorized along with it followed by the accompanied workbook exercises and test.

A semester is two eight week sessions in a row. School year starts in August goes 8 weeks. You get one week off then 8 more weeks. One month off for Christmas and the same schedule for spring term.

Thanks for the great review. I was wondering what the courses look like. I see the syllabus template for possible assignments. However, what does the week-to-week look like? Do you watch lectures or only have selected readings from the textbook? Thanks so much for your help!
@Theoforge Жыл бұрын
Each week there will be required reading and lecture videos. I wish the lectures were longer, they average anywhere between 5-30 minutes. Typically you will have a test, discussion post, or some minor assignment due every week and on week 7 there will be a major paper due.

Great video! I'm in my last class for the M.A.T.S. I have loved my time at Liberty! I will continue on into the M.A.R in Theology program and then the DMin in Apologetics and Theology program. One quick correction, late assignments are accepted up to 2 weeks after the due date with a 10% deduction within that 1st week and a 20% deduction within the 2nd week (which is a very generous late assignment policy, in my opinion). Liberty usually does not accept late assignments after the 2nd week (except for extenuating circumstances; and again this is in referenceto to Liberty's Rawlings School of Divinity. Not sure about late assignment policies for other programs).

@@pastorchuckhouston Liberty is a great school. When I was looking at PhD programs Liberty had two available - Biblical Exposition and Theology/Apologetics. So let’s deal with the elephant in the room; I’m old 😂 I’ll be 50 at the end of the month. I’m in law enforcement as a Police Officer and looking to obtain my bachelors degree. My interest is in the culture and language of the times. I want to add context to biblical study. An unbiased approach to the beliefs of the earliest Christians. Do you have any thoughts in regards to what program of study would be a good fit?
@Theoforge Жыл бұрын
I looked at the undergrad degree completion plans - I would go with a general degree in the Bible or Theology and use my electives for specific courses you are wanting. On the Masters level you get a little more room to dig deep with the early Christians and language. I am also spent 18 years in law enforcement and now getting my PhD, you are never too old. What is your end goal in mind? If it is for mere edification, I can recommend some books/websites to help you out. If you are wanting the degree for another reason, Liberty would be a great spot to get your undergrad.
@kennethsoles1688 Жыл бұрын
@@Theoforge I need a degree to advance further in my current career. My agency will reimburse so I figured why not choose something I’m genuinely interested in. I want to gain the research skills to really unlock the meaning of scripture. Especially the topics debated between Protestants and Catholics. I feel like word translation and cultural context could go along way in that regard. My dad is a retired southern Baptist pastor; I don’t feel called to the church in that way but if God has an occupational plan somewhere in the future I’d be open to it.

@@ryanmkick That is a great question. All the textbooks were standard evangelical books that didn’t lean on a certain denominational perspective.
