@@FYoOp1nion there are deadlines for assignments, but you can pretty much work at your own pace. One thing I am not a huge fan of is that if you work too far ahead and don't submit work for 10 days, you get an email from the school saying something to the effect of "are you still attending class"? However, classes do not have online sessions that you have to attend at certain times. All of the classes that I have taken have been asynchronous. On the other side of that is that the classes generally have generous late work policies, so if life gets hectic, you can still submit work after the "deadline". Most online classes will be 8 weeks, so there are two subsemesters. For example, you have spring B & D, which slightly overlap. If you take four classes, you can take two in each. Another option is the A semester, which is 16 weeks. So you can potentially take one A on top of those four and have 15 credit hours in one semester...if you're insane like I am and love to punish yourself.

After a horrific experience at a brick-and-mortar master's program that relied on its historic and elitist reputation, instead of actually teaching its students, I went to Liberty and got my first master's online and now I'm working on my MBA. Absolutely had no problems getting the classes I wanted and the professors are awesome. At the end of the day, no one cares where you got your degree, as long as it's accredited and you have the experience to back it up. No way will I ever step foot on a college campus ever again and Liberty University has helped me achieve my goals with affordable master's programs that are military-friendly.

Your videos are very helpful. When I attended Liberty U Online, I found it to be good. However, one particular year attending it seemed they outsourced professors from other states and these professors just didn't have the professionalism, organization, quick response, flexibility, training to be a Liberty professor, positive/encouragement vibe, nor Christian values as professors located actually at Liberty. So that was a disappointment. I just made sure next semester I chose professors physically located at Liberty. I enjoyed the online professors much more that were located on campus. They were great and yes seem to be at a higher standard. This was years ago, so maybe it has changed. Tip: Just try to schedule online courses with professors at the actually campus if you can. @CollegeHacked Жыл бұрын
Asynchronous isn’t the same as competency based education (CBE) :) Liberty has 8-week classes, where even if you finish all the work for the whole course on day 1, you still have to wait for the 8 weeks to pass to get a final grade and move on to the next class. The most hackable schools are CBE programs, where when you finish the work for the class, even if it’s in one day, you move on to the next class. Liberty is an excellent school, it just doesn’t offer CBE programs yet so taking more than 4 classes in a single term of 8 weeks requires an appeal process that is not always granted.

@CollegeHacked4 күн бұрын
Sounds like a values clash! We see this relatively regularly, so know you’re not alone :) This is a good reason to move colleges. You could certainly move to Liberty a year in and all your credit should transfer fine (unless you went into SNHU with existing credit and have more than the normal ~30 or so you’d have after a year of courses). Liberty is free to apply and send transcripts to and they’ll give you an evaluation you can review before you make any final choices. We could also help with a single session if you’d like to hack some of the general education or topics in the degree you’re less excited about. You got this!

Active military here doing my master's program online. LU is extremely cheap for what you get out of it. Even for an MA, it's $275/ credit hour, which translates to only $75 that i have to pay out of pocket per class after tuition assistance from the military. Additionally, LU waives the technology fees for military, so a computer program like ArcPro which would normally cost $800 for a GIS class gets waived entirely. LU is affordable for everyone, but is stupidly affordable if you're military. Cheap and regionally accredited. At the end of the day, nothing else matters.

I only had to take proctored exams when I took on-campus classes and could not get to the campus because I was moving, but that was at a different school. Most online programs seem to be getting away from proctored exams, but I might be mistaken. On the other hand, be mindful of assignment deadlines. Liberty and many other institutions say students can work at their own pace, which is true, provided you turn your assignments in on time. Some professors will dock you for being a couple hours late, while others will not. It all depends on the professor. All things considered, Liberty Online has been awesome. Hi Amber! If you don’t have a direct use for it, we strongly advise not jumping into another degree :) Accomplishing a PhD is definitely a great feeling for a year or two, but if you’re only “paying to play” and don’t have a clear path for why the degree would benefit you, the joy often turns to regret and crushing loan payments. Light leads to light, so if you’re still looking for your thing (or “the next thing” since most of us will have many careers in our lifetime!) put your time and energy toward internship and shadowing experiences :) You can find professionals on LinkedIn who work in fields you find interesting and message them asking to shadow or have an informational interview. It’s usually hard to tell what you like until you’re directly exposed to it! But also, don’t overthink it too much :) You’re unlikely to find ONE THING you do for the rest of your life ❤️ Let that be exciting instead of stressful :) Good luck!

so online were just watching a video and teaching ourselves ? im trying to go for engineering and im worried
@CollegeHacked Жыл бұрын
Most worthwhile Engineering programs are ABET accredited, and that makes them rare to find online, and usually they are not very hackable even if you do find one 😅

I'm highly interested in the PhD psychology program, however, I'm am not Christian nor am I religious. Would LU be a good for for someone like me? Also, are courses taught from a biblical perspective?
@CollegeHacked3 ай бұрын
There will always be Biblical integration in your classes at LU, but it’s less intense at the graduate level. They are smart enough to know with 100,000 online students, all faiths should be welcomed. With psychology in particular, learning another religion can actually be a helpful experience for someone with an open mind.

Are their online tests proctored? How does their online testing work in general?
@CollegeHackedАй бұрын
Not proctored. You sign an honor code promising not to cheat and then the quizzes and tests are times to prevent the taker from having enough time to look things up.

Do they provide the equipment
@CollegeHacked7 сағат бұрын
Only predatory for-profit colleges issue laptops when you sign up. Don’t go to a school that gives you equipment like that.

Do you help with the Doctorate degrees at Liberty?
@CollegeHacked7 ай бұрын
There is portfolio credit at the terminal degree level, but nothing like Sophia or Study. We help clients choose a graduate school and map out which classes to submit portfolio credit for, but we don’t assist in writing the components of the submission.

hi college hack. . Bay path College is located in Longmeadow, MA. (DOCTOR HEALTH SCIENCE) They are a not-for-profit college. What do you think of that? What are your thoughts on the school?
@CollegeHacked2 ай бұрын
Don’t know much about it, but it looks good after an initial search. Whether the degree is the right fit for you depends on your future goals and what the degree requires. If you’re looking to go into research or academia, make sure you have a dissertation, for example.

what is a "hackable college?' why do you mean when you say "if you hack your degree" you pay less?
@CollegeHacked Жыл бұрын
Third party websites, like Sophia.org and Study.com, in addition to CLEP exams, are ways to transfer college credit into certain schools who accept them and graduate faster and cheaper! 😄

Can you please talk about Christian Leaders Institute/College?
@CollegeHacked5 ай бұрын
You want to know about the leaders who run Christian schools, or?
@momster055 ай бұрын
@@CollegeHacked Christian Leaders Institute has free courses that transfer to Liberty. The courses are free but there is a small fee to transfer them. I have been scouring your videos looking for more information and haven’t seen anything. For some of us who would like a Christian course instead of a secular one, or for courses a student needs say for pastoral education, or just for a super low cost alternative, Christian Leaders is a great way to go with the caveat that you would have to then use Liberty U or Liberty UO to finish for regional credit degrees. I have just been surprised no one here has addressed them and was hoping maybe you would. :) Thanks!

I hear what you're saying. It's a simple system. I'd say probably actually a B- or C+ for cost actually.
