Review of my 2000 Road King Classic

Just got back from a 1600 mile trip on my 07 Road King. Around 60k on the clock. Zero problems. Mine is the standard with the fiberglass bags, cast wheels, and narrow white walls. It’s been from coast to coast and up into Canada so you can surely do big miles on a Road King. BEST Harley EVER!

I love my 2000 Road King Classic. The reason anybody buys a Road King is because they want to ride a “motorcycle” And not a two wheeled limousine. And by the way, white walls on a Road King Classic are a must. LOL! Good video brother!

I've got a 2005 Road King Classic built to a stage 4 with Vance & Hines straight pipes custom billet 18in wheels, flaming paint and all the chrome that goes with it. Love my motorcycle and I agree with you. It's THE classic Harley. Mine runs like a bat out of hell.

Westleys white wall cleaner does a stellar job on all white wall and white letter tires as well as cleans the tires and makes em look new again

I agree, really like that classic nostalgic look. I have owned more softails than kings, but enjoy them both. It’s that simple feel and handling. I will tell you it’s my favorite ride for sure, and I can’t see anything but white walls on ‘em. Be well and ride safe brother.

White Walls are the look for a Road King. Unfortunately, last year I had white walls ordered that I was going to put them on. The tires was supposed to come in on a Friday and I had an appointment to get them on. Only one tire came in and I had to had the tires put on because I was headed out of town. I just had to have the tires put on that day. Can't put one white wall on and that's all so I opted to put two black walls on. Regret, regret. It don't look as good. Next time I need tires I'm ordering them ahead of time so if they screw it up again they're sending them back. I'm getting white walls on no excuses. Yours looks great

Great looking rk I have a 2015 rk with white walls I think they really make the look they are a pain to clean but I found gumption works pretty good, keep the videos coming brother 👍

BoDean 52 honestly that is my only issue, they are a pain to clean, have to take off bags, difficult to get to the real wheel a lots of chrome, and I still love my rk👍

Nice choice on the tires! One thing just as important (if not more important) as tread wear/depth, is the press date of the tire! The walls wear over time (even when sitting) and the tires wear over the road. Ride safe and enjoy!

That bike is awesome!! Advice for whitewall cleaning: never use steel wool!! Use a magic eraser sponge and Westley’s Bleche White. 😎👍🏻

BoDean 52 that is exactly the kind of thing you should not use! A Brillo pad or a steel wool pad will cause scratches and the brake dust and road dust will inhabit those scratches.

I have a Road King I bought new in 06 and love it. I had some Andrews TW26 torque cams and new cam chain guides put in it at about 35k miles. I'm at almost 49k miles and runs great. Also it is important to purge the dot 4 brake fluid every 10k miles or 2 years. I found that out the hard way... I'm thinking of putting the Rhinehart pipes on the bike so how do you like yours and are they 4 inch pipes?

I know I will need to do the cams at some point and just love the bikes. The Rhineharts came with the bike and they are awesome though they are 3"

Hey I purchased the same “crown” gas cap you have & after screwing/installing it in my bike, it scratched my paint a little. Did you have the same problem when you installed yours?

Ook. When I tightened the gas cap all the way, the bottom part of it rubbed against the tank & scratched it. I noticed the rubber wasn’t wide enough to fully go between the two metals. I think I’ll go to a plumbing store or Home Depot and get another O ring. That should solve the issue 🤞🏾.

I have a 2000 RK flhr and unfortunately I did need the cam chain tensioner but I bought mine with more miles on it than yours has. I love the white walls also. I have had the spoke wheels on mine for years but in the past two weeks bought some mags off of Ebay so that I can get away from the inner tube and the pain of cleaning the spokes. God speed

I've owned 7 HD's but never a Road King. I do agree about the simple iconic look and feel though, it's why in some ways I preferred my Heritage Softail over my Road Glides.

I bought my 2000 road king classic new , now 25,000 miles on it . At one point I had it for sale but never got a call so I told myself I'll never sell it. I just painted it House of Kolor, Paul Yaffe 12" monkey bars, Mustang solo seat, Fueling hydraulic cam plate, Fat boy front fender, over this winter it's getting Legend suspension . First Harley and my last . I don't like how Harley treats customers or the quality of their bikes but love the ride it gives.

@@BoDean52 .... Love the look of Paul Yaffe bars but two sets later couldn't get the grips to fit. They were 1.015 ( too much chrome) but should have been 1" I decided to grind the grip ends instead of sending them back , all is good and the grips fit on the bars. I'm waiting on the clutch cable from magnum shielding , if you get the 12" they'll take cables 4" over stock . If I were you wanting 12" or so bars check out Magnum shielding for their Viking bars & great cables.

Whitewalls look better !! Pain to clean but classic . bikes like mine look awful with the black walls . And you can take that bike on long trips just throw your weekend bag on the back and go. You need to take a trip like bronco ride . That would be cool.
