Thanks for the review. What I REALLY wish was that there was a recorder that was the size of the Hollyland Lark M2 (the little round hockey puck mics). I would personally be fine if it didn't transmit and JUST had internal recording. I like that they are small and not distracting... unless you put the wind muffs on them. Then those things are HUGE and ugly.

I agree. I was considering the Lark M2 for its size, but I'm a sucker for a good deal off retail prices.

I just received mine in the mail today! So excited to start using it for my videos instead of constantly getting myself tangled in the spaghetti mess that is my lavelier mic all the time 🤣😭

I actually bought this a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. I think I prefer the sound with the noise-cancelling off because it is less muffled and it's nice to hear some ambient sound, but I guess if it's a really noisy place, then it makes sense to have it on. I ended up buying the mic system and case separately and somehow it worked out to be a better price because they both went on sale meanwhile the combo system didn't.

Definitely need some ambient noise otherwise it can sound too sterilized, especially when outdoors. That's awesome you were able to get a good deal! I think in general, people shouldn't be paying full price for these since there's deals all the time!

I have a Fulaim X5 (identical). I'm no audiophile but I have tried a wired lav with it but the audio quality is better with the wired lav plugged directly into my iphone12pm. I find the X5 to be very sensitive to location - best 6 inches in front of my mouth but that's naff! 2nd best is under my T shirt with the dead cat on. I've had no trouble with noise cancelling but do it in post.

I think in general wired will always beat out wireless. Having something like this, or the X5 in your case, that's cheap and wireless though helps with freedom of movement and the price point makes me happy I didn't blow my budget.

The thing I do not like about them is that deadcat does not fit to charging box and also that you have to always remove the phone connector when you want charge the transmitter...

agree. It's super inconvenient that everything doesn't fit in the charging box.

Genuine review as a normal user. Neewer Cm28 has some issues.. Lark M2 seems good over all.

Problem is Lark doesn’t have internal recording. That’s a deal breaker for many people.

I haven't experienced that in camera, but I have noticed some lag in a final edited video after I export.
