Review of OWATROL Polytrol colour restorer. Trying it on a faded car bumper and house front door.

You need to use a lot more of it, and the result will be miles better! The bumper must be wet with polytrol. Use a brush or sponge for the best result. Leave it for 10 minutes, and wipe the excess off, with a lint free cloth. Repeat if necessary. It's also very important to prep the surface, with silicone remover (prepaint), or at least a very good wash with a degreaser.

I have used this on narrowboat and can only describe it as amazing. It all depends on how you put 8t onto the surface as I have seen a video where it was a disaster. Apply quickly using horizontal strokes. Do not use circular actions as this will leave a really bad finish.

How long did it last? And did you compare the life to your linseed oil/white spirit alternative?

I watched a video and the chap brushed it on with a paint brush with good results.

Its now 1.5 years later and the door is still fine and has not been retreated yet.

I put this on our motorhome today. It took 2 of us 2 hours of hard labour yo get it off and still couldn't get it all off.

They actually deny it has any linseed oil in the product on there FaQ page on website 👍

The manufacturer has seen this video as they contacted me to ask if they can use parts of it. So maybe they then added this in their FAQ??
