Thank you for the video. I know Staedtler is not professional artists pencils but I love them. My very first set also was Staedtler Ergosoft and 12 years later I still buy them for my kids and for myself.

Thank you so much for your support I can’t tell you how much it means to me or for commenting and watching the video, thank you so very much. It’s definitely worth trying them on different paper. I am guessing that there might be a few people that have purchased this set, tried them on card stock, Bristol smooth or velum and not liked them. But if they try them on a slightly more textured paper, they will see a complete different pencil. Thank you so much

YIKES!! Recently was informed that UK creators don’t receive the same compensation as US creators. Not that KZbin compensation is fabulous for a lot of creators. Please, please subscribe, give a thumbs up, and leave a comment. Just commenting with an emoji is sufficient. Also ,please, please let the commercials run (this is huge).These small steps will really help the channel’s monetary intake. We all depend on Harry for reliable reviews and appreciate the time, effort , and cost it takes to create the content for his viewers.

Harry, thank you for the review. I'm not able to donate at the moment, unfortunately. But i can leave a comment. I really appreciate your honest reviews (and your personal stories, too, if I'm being honest). We don't know each other, but you feel like a friend to me. I do hope that your situation is resolved quickly. All the best. ❤

I feel totally embarrassed for even saying anything about my situation, it felt wrong after the fact and I feel terrible about it. I like this line. Its unassuming and good for people like me, who are not sure whether we like this medium or not. I use Staedtler Creative Journey coloured oencils as finishing touches and texture for gouache and watercolour. A budget item like this would be fine. I also got the Staedtler Creative Journey set of tinted graphite pencils and I ❤❤❤ them!
@TheArtGearGuide

The tinted graphite watercolour pencils are just gorgeous, their are a much cheaper version of the Derwent Graphitint, which I personally think is fantastic. Their are a lot of people who would love to try the Derwent Graphitint but just can’t afford them, so I love the fact that companies like Staedtler create a set of pencils very similar at a fraction of the price allowing struggling artists to experience such a medium. Thank you so much for your comment and for watching the video I really appreciate it.

Thanks for your reply, Harry. @@TheArtGearGuide Your thinking is exactly right. I tried the Starter tinted graphite pencils. I liked them so much that I bought three Derwent graphitint in half pans. I liked the colour but not the pencil format. This creative Journey line has so many excellent products, including watercolour pencils. You are right, it's nice when companies create introductory level products that allow.people to try without breaking the bank. Thanks again for your review

I had some steadtler triangle pencils for math some years ago, and I loved those. I know they were not the ergo soft because they were way cheaper and only 12 colors. I am hoping to get that same set again but more of them.

I have the 24 set which has enough range for me. I like them. I find that they're best on paper with a bit of tooth. Very smooth paper doesn't take the color well, and they kinda work on rough paper, but it has a rougher look to it.

Hi Harry. Man am I confused with these pencils. Are the 72 in the tin with the plimsols on the same as the 72 eith the stag? Where do Noris fit in? Some sell the 72 set for under £20 some for £60+. could you please do a run down of what is what and the price points? Many thanks.
@jamiececilielange5249
@jamiececilielange5249 Ай бұрын
The pencils with the shoes and the pencils with the stag are not the same. The pencils he reviews are called Design Journey, or sometimes 146C or 14610C. You can often see a blue shape on them where it says 'Design Journey'. I saw a review where Noris colour were worse than Design journey pencils.

I was a little confused concerning the measurements given at 11:40 and 11:52. The core size of these pencils is supposed to be 3mm according to Staedtler website, and the barrel should be something around 7.0 mm. Never seen a pencil with a barrel of 3.4 mm...Maybe your tool was not reset properly?
@TheArtGearGuide
@TheArtGearGuide 6 ай бұрын
Yeah I seen that to, but you see the tool I use to measure the core and barrel, I use that for all pencils and I normally say give an extra or less 1 mm. but the tool I use is pretty accurate. I will measure them again just to double check for you. Thank you for your comment I really appreciate it.
@Chris-qu1ge
@Chris-qu1ge 6 ай бұрын
Looking at 11:51, you can clearly see that the graduation on the top is between 6 and 7 mm, but the digital display says 3.4 mm. My first impression was that maybe the zero was not reset correctly before the measurement. But what also seemed strange to me is that the displayed values are about one half of what they should be (could it be radius instead of diameter on display ?). Excellent review anyhow, very informative...
@TheArtGearGuide
@TheArtGearGuide 6 ай бұрын
@Chris-qu1ge it’s always reset to zero for every pencil, I reset it to zero every time I do any measurements so after the core, or barrel, whatever I do first. I’m not sure what you mean about the last part of your message. You can change the measurements from mm to inches and when I was buying it I searched for tools that measure circumferences because it was specifically bought for measuring pencil cores and barrels most of which are round, thats all I know. I’m actually in hospital at the minute so when I get home I’ll take another look at it.

Hullo Harry, I know you may have thought of selling some of your stock, yet have refrained for propriety reasons. I will say if you are given an item, it is YOURS! To do with as you see fit. I know you like to donate to charities, but I know you have heard this "Charity begins at Home." I have sold off many art supplies in the past. Some I sold out of simply having plenty and no need for it any more. Others I have sold because I needed to make rent! Whatever your need, Please feel the that we believe the cause is just and you asking is a measure of how great this need is. I encourage as many people as possible to send some type of donation to your channel. You provide an amazing amount of content for FREE for many years now. Everyone should be able to afford the cost of a cup of coffee. I believe you should feel free to sell off as much of your overstock as you can. I do not know the rules of selling on KZbin. I hope you find a way to list some pencil sets or markers or whatever you can part with! I wish you only the very best and believe your community will help as much as we all can. Please look for a PayPal donation from Michael Peters
