I've had these pencils for four years now and I have been looking at Polychromos. I'm saving for a set but I am happy with these for now 🎉 Derwent is quite expensive here in the US and I have made recent purchases and adding to my 26 Lightfast. I also got the Drawing pencils 🎉🎉🎉 I'm going to be trying Brush and Pencil Powder Blender and Titanium White. Have you reviewed them? I'll try a search. I just read that these pencils are open stock on their Etsy shop ❤ Thank you for reviewing these. Mine are finally out of the tin and into a case 🎉

Are the pastels a little harder, like Rembrandt? Or are they really soft like the Terry ludwigs?

One thing I don't understand is people who do coloring books, why waste a lot of money on lightfast artist's creme, are you going to exhibit your books in a museum or sell your drawings??? If you do your own drawings and sell your originals I understand that lightfast over time is a wise option but for just coloring I say to myself yeah good quality with a good range 72 and over 150 but again on the big sets like the chromaflow several are satisfied with the box of 72 and there they buy the biggest set and they find that there are too many young or close shades so yeah open stock is better. I understand pencil collectors.😊❤

Thank you for your video I tell myself to buy a good box and in open stock because the Chinese brands for example I bought brutfuner macaron 72 and I like them a lot but they wear out quickly and I had a pencil that does like the prismacolor broken from the inside so if you want to replace a dexton set pencil you have to buy a complete box. Open stock I choose thank you your video is very useful.

Hmmm idk about these. They seem good but 2 x refills per whole pen at around $2.60 per refill (which are also single use) is an absolutely abysmal long-term cost when you think that Copic refills are about $6-8 for 6-8 refills. For individual pens you're also looking at $4.10 for half a pen, which is unusable on its own, so you are forced to pay another $4.10 for the other half (and hope you don't lose the 'connector ring' that holds them together). ... This is a big miss for me, too fiddly, too pricey. At least with my Copics I can just buy pen, buy refill, and not think about it for the next couple years.

Nice list. Glad you include the Bruynzeel. I have a 24 set from the Rijks Museum anniversary (Van Gogh). They're great. People are into the big name "professional" brands so much, really good brands are being sidelined, imho. I do have a few of those you mentioned & my list (my stash) goes: 1 Albrecht Durer (excellent transparency) 2. Caran D'Ache (more opaque) 3. Bruynzeel and Winsor & Newton 4. Inktense (vivid ink) I don't have any Swisscolor but if you were to include tinted pencils, I could rate the Derwent Graphitint & Staedtler soft Tinted both as excellent. I think the Staedtler Karat is probably sidelined even though most say it's an excellent watercolor pencil. I haven't tried them yet as I have too many WC pencils at present.

Thank you very much for the review and demonstration 🫶. I don't have the pencils but I won't deny that the Arrtx packaging is super pretty 🥰 Wow! I am of the opinion of sampling a palette with soluble pencils and then moistening 🤗... I continue doing it with some FC eco watercolor pencils 🙂 Let's wait for a new review of Arrtx although I would like to paint with the normal version of 72 0 120 🥰 ...by the way i hope you do a review of the new Ohuhu colored pencils 😃 Look tempting! Greetings and thanks for the video ❤

A couple of years ago I treated myself to five sets of Copic Sketch markers (A, B, C, D and E) appon receiving them every single set had at least one marker that was dried out, the place I bought them from replaced the dried out markers but they have been drying out without even being used, there is a quality control issue with the caps, they don't seal very well (if at all) I definitely will not be buying anything from copic again, it's unacceptable.

Great review! The 100 set is now available in Germany for around 40,- EUR. I will test the lightfastness from curiosity. I think it's an excellent option for european artists instead of buying the here totally overpriced prismacolors.

Great video tyfs!! I'm an inktense girl ❤❤❤ I've told my family if the house was on fire (of course humans and pets are priority 😂) that I'm going back in for my inktense. Luckily for me my albrecht durer's are in the same case so I'm well covered!! I would love to have the caran dache museum aquarelle but can't justify spending that kind of money. It hurt enough with the extra 28 inktense. I do however have a 40 set of neocolor II 's so I'm pretty happy with my "stash" I also have this set of 24 random woodless no name/brand watercolour pencils....can't even remember where I got them...and they are actually incredible!! So I have a top 4 kind of 😂

I never use to really like metallic mediums, be they colored pencils, water soluble crayons or watercolors, however this set and the Paul Rubens watercolor pearlescent set changed my mind. I always struggled to see how they could be used, but after playing about with them, there is actually so many ways they can be used to amazing effect. Thank you so much for your comment and for your support, I can’t thank you enough.

Aww beautiful painting 🥰 Thank you for sharing your process with Arrtx watercolor pencils 🙏💖....Their colors are beautiful. By the way a question 😳 are these watercolor pencils different from having normal pencils? 😲 i want to say that these watercolor pencils can also be used for coloring without the need to apply water 😅.... although i do think that the pigment gives it a somewhat earthy texture.
@TheArtGearGuide
@TheArtGearGuide 15 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment I really appreciate and thank you for the question. There is a slight different to textures between watercolor pencils and traditional colored pencils, you can’t really blend and layer watercolor pencils in their dry format and get the same result you can with colored pencils. That being said, I watch and know a lot of artists, particularly adult colouring book artists, that use watercolor pencils in their dry format to beautiful effect. I think in the likes of coloring books and creating block colors they are fine. What I mean by block colors is, coloring in an area that you are not going to be creating a gradient with. Thank you so much for your support and for your comment, thank you so much

I should've seen your review, it's exactly like what you reviewed. I can't even properly blend it well and when i pressed too much pressure just wanted to make the colors shown up, the paper would get damage or there's a slightly lil white scratch on it and I can't even blend it well

Yeah, unfortunately I found these pencils to be really bad. Now if you look in the comments an artist took real issue with me giving these pencils such a bad review, so obviously that artist was able to get good results from them, which only goes to show that a set of colored pencils in the hands of many different artists is going to garner various opinions and results. Sorry you didn’t get to see the review sooner and save yourself a boot of money. Thank you so much for your comment and support, thank you so much

Prayers for her full recovery as well as praying for you and your wife to be given strength to see both of you through.🙏🙏

Yeah I am not a big fan of mineral spirits, it’s probably more to do with me not using it right, but I’m just not happy with the final results when I use OMS. For me, I prefer letting the pencils do the blending.
