One little correction. Pironi did not lose his life in 1982. His lost his life during an offshore boating race in 1987.

Ok thank you...I was young so I always thought he passed during an F1 wreck. His F1 career ended but not his life....I am going to try to do a bit more research before I start making videos. I tend to just start filming and start spewing out rando recollections. Thank you for that info...will see what I can do to edit the video and repost.

I remember that well. He couldn't leave speed alone.

@mycarcave6214 If you have HBO or stream MAX, they are currently airing the documentary, Villeneuve vs. Pironi. Pretty good film but slanted more towards Gilles than Didier. Didier always portrayed as the bad guy but he was a highly intelligent, politically motivated, and complex individual for sure. However, Gilles was a little too trusting and naive, imo.

Ferrari's were DQ'ed at Long Beach for running the illegal rear wings. I think Ken Tyrrell protested GV's car after the race.

Hahaha... That is very F1...neither car seemed that competitive yet Ken files a protest! What an odd wing though...had to put it in the collection

Are they planing to release the Sam Marino Version, with no spoiler on the front of Giles's cars?
@mycarcave62143 ай бұрын
I do believe they will. I understand there will be a 1/12th scale version and I have to imagine a no spoiler 1/18th. I surely would like one

You also got the editions of 1978 en 79 Zandvoort?
@mycarcave621411 ай бұрын
Hi, I have the 1978 Canadian GP with driver figure and the 1980 with driver figure. I do not have the 1979.

Which one is the most beautiful? I want to buy one. The edition with the Red base is nice. And that 1979 edition with the wheel was an iconic moment

is this piece sold out?
@mycarcave621410 ай бұрын
A quick look at the websites I buy from would indicate that yes it is sold out. That said I do believe they will make other versions of the 126C with GV figure. Maybe a wingless front version or one with a black front wing? There is also ebay as an option. GP seems to be making several variations of this car, also in 1/12th scale. I missed on the first round of this car with a driver figure so I think you will get a chance at this one. Driverless version is more available.

Nice video. For this particular model, i think GP Replicas go the rims and general wheel/tyre dimensions wrongnby some margin, especially with the 1st edition. The bulge on the rear tyres would.have been accurate for a 1970's F1 car, but definitely not for 1982. The Goodyear markings are also way too large. The rear wheels/tyres on the second edition looks fine. Thr front wheels and tyres look too small on both editions. GP Replicas are improving and its good to see, each new release deomonstrates this but they have made some rather obvious and serious mistakes on pretty much all models with regards to proportions, decals etc. check thr first edition of the 1989 Ferrari 1/18 scale or the 1985 Ferrari 1/18. A comedy of errors.

Good points. They are rather bulbous. I am going to put out a video on the 1989 later this week and yes that is comically bad and I mention that. I have no clue how models get made and approved but the people making these have to have some level of passion for the sport and should know better or care enough to check. Your not saving costs making a incorrect tire size. That said they are trying to improve and filling gaps in collections other manufactures would not make. Thanks for watching and commenting
