I have the Monument 4 burner and yes, it’s very nice. Best gas grill you can get under $500. I also got a big griddle from Outfitters Edge that fits perfectly inside.

I know Weber’s are not what they used to be, but it is nice that I can still buy parts for my 1990’s Weber Genesis 1000. It would never get over 550 degrees unless I had a grease fire, but I try to stay away from throw away grills.

I bought my SO a three burner Weber seven years ago (not a Genesis) and paid $100 more. It isn't stainless and doesn't have a side burner. I like this grill more.

Great video Tom, I have a Weber Summit propane. I was able to compare it to a Weber Spirit. Yes I know there is no comparison, my point being, I will never need to buy another propane grill. But it can be said that if you choose a several $100 grill and in a few years need another then you get to use new designs. If I didn't have my Summit I would probably look very hard at the Masterbuilt Gravity Series. I also have a Louisiana Grills Komado from Costco and Weber Performer second hand. It is very hard to pass up the new Weber 26 inch Master Touch. If Weber brought back the bright colors to the 26 inch kettle I would risk divorce court. As long as I got the 26 inch in the settlement. 😅. Always look forward to your next video Tom. Your voice is calming yet you are able to excite about your content. Thanks. We don't see many videos on the 26, 🤔

Thanks for Watching! I have cast iron grill grates in Florida, as long as I keep them oiled after each use they don’t rust

Nice grill. I think the temp is more even that your results were. The burners are uniform in size and distance-should be more consistent. Great value.

Nice video but let me ask a question. I like the idea of the glass front but does it work? Does it get "fogged up" after use? Does it work or is it a gimmick?

Thanks for Watching Chef Kevin! As I have stated the new “ clear view technology “. Works very well on these windows. They do not require as much cleaning as the previous models

You said the Oklahoma Joe picks don’t stand up well to the high heat. Do they get less accurate or become damaged at 500 or higher?
@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching Jim! They read just fine at higher temps but the Sealant they use between the glass and metal has a tendency to fail at higher temps

Hey Tom, any chance you might ever review the new Pit Boss Titan Competition series pellet grill that is sold only at Academy of Sports as far as I know? From what I can tell so far, it seems to be at least somewhat special compared to many others, addressing some long time concerns and criticisms of pellet grills in general. Would love to know what you think if you ever get a chance. Thx

Weber has definitely changed in recent years for sure. They are currently privately owned versus a few years ago when they were a publicly trades company. There are pros and cons to both and always having to meet and exceed investor expectations for publicly traded companies does not always seem to translate to the customers best interest. I think Weber has good ideas and intentions, but they’re prices are getting kind of excessive considering more and more if their manufacturing is moving to China. If you’re(weber) is already playing catch up in the griddle and pellets game them moving to China forfeits any advantage they have over competitors.

The fire box is enamel coated steel, not cast aluminum. One chip and rust will eat it up...no comparison to even Spirit model Webers right there.

It won’t have the reliability or parts availability of a Weber My 10 year old Weber Spirit got parts replaced for free by Weber. Their service is top tier

Thanks for Watching! Time will tell…
@msk39056 ай бұрын
Why do you say that? What parts do you see not being reliable, grills are pretty simple designs. I’ve own 2 Webers a Genesis and Spirit, they both have had issues with the heating knob movements where some are sticky and don’t move easy, starters are touchy my Genesis doesn’t work any more. I have replaced both propane hoses and had to buy new gas manifold for my Genesis. Cases have held up very well but I had to buy all new grates and burner covers on my genesis as they fell apart, my genesis doors don’t stay closed when it’s windy…wind comes in from behind and the magnet closers can’t keep doors closed. Lastly, most importantly both heat up uneven with significant hot and cold spots. I do take care of my grills and these both were excellent for about 5 years then all the issues started. One Spirit heat knob won’t turn by hand you have pull knob and use a plier so was going to get a new spirit until I saw, read reviews and manhandled one of these so going to try the Mesa 415. Weber is overpriced sorry but no Spirit grill should cost nearly $700.

In typical Chinese fashion these grills are, for the most part, Chinese knockoff's of Weber and Napoleon grills. They copy their features almost exactly. I considered one since they are so inexpensive, but there were two things that made me purchase the Napoleon 500 Prestige instead: #1, I noticed the weight of the comparable Monument grill was like 1/4 the weight of the Napoleon (HUGE difference) so that has to tell you something right there. Secondly, Napoleon has a lifetime/15 year warranty vs Monuments 8 year warranty. Also, note, I can't find any reviews of this grill that are not sponsored. SO basically what you are watching in this video and all the others is a commercial. I still think Monuments are OK for the money but it's definitely not going to last as long as a Weber or Napoleon. Ultimately you get what you pay for.
