Hello Sean, I have been thinki g of getti g one of these as I am a big grass tuft user for figures and scenery but I was not sure how they worked and had heard they were very messy. I still have a couple of questions though? Q1. Did you get the thing as a whole item or did you have to buy the tea strainer to go into it separately? It does loom very tea strainer'ish! Q2. What was wrong with making them on the foil if you need the foil anyway to complete the circuit? Q3. So the difference in using this and just glueing the static grass to the paper is that the grass stands up on end as opposed to just being in a blob is that correct? Q4. When you peel them off is the back still tacky to stick onto a base like the ones you buy or do you have to then glue them in place? I normally glue them anyway, but just to be certain what happens? Thanks for your help.

Duncan, thanks for the questions. 1. It comes complete, it even includes batteries, 2. I thought that they wouldn't come off the tin foil as easily as the grease proof paper. Turns out they do so no problem making them on the tin foil. 3. Yes, the applicator makes the grass stand up as opposed to to it lying flat. You can attach the crocodile clip to the figures base and make the grass stand up on the base too. 4. No it doesn't remain tacky. You'll need to add a blob of glue to stick them down.

Really Sean, you need one of these! I thought you wanted to get figures painted to game with! Yor so eaily amused. You want 2mm for your small scale blobs of metal.
