I really love your fabric journal! I purchased one and completed it, but I like yours better🙂. It is a little pricey, but I knew I would never make one myself so I went ahead and bought the journal. It is a little small, but cute and fun to play with! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you. I thought it was pricey for what it is, but I enjoyed putting it together. I would make my own if I wanted to do another like it.

Great video Janet! I also laughed at "pimped paper" 😅 Anyway, you've done an absolutely fabulous job with this. I had no idea it was so diddy but I'm blown away with what you've done with it - it looks so awesome!
@thejournalkeeper2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, it is rather diddy, which is why I felt the price was too high. I would make my own next time.

Wow Janet, I really love what you’ve done with this journal, I wouldn’t have even know where to start but this has really inspired me to have a go. Really gorgeous and we all need a little pumped paper in our lives 😉 thank you sharing! 💕💕

I am trying to remember who started the pimping my paper thing. I have done some more, ooh since I am doing texture I might be able to use some of it. I have been making mental lists of all the different textures I might use , it's getting a bit long, I might end up with a massive piece of work.... I have been advised to not over think it. I am fiiming out in my studio and we have builders across the road and next door:( maybe if i bribe them with biscuits...

Your fabric journal is so lovely. Thanks for your discussion today. It inspired me to open up my TH fabric journal and look at it closely. When I saw it at the store, it was 50% off, which is why I bought it. And my thought was to make several using the original as a template, and then modifying it to suit my purposes. After this video, I hopped up and put the front cover on the fabric journal.

Beautiful journal! I agree there really isn't much to it for the price. I also bought one, but on sale for about half off the original price. Still, it is easy enough to make on your own for sure, if you have fabric laying around. TFS the inspiration!

Yes, I thought it was not much, but I did enjoy putting it together. I think I will do another, but I will make the journal out if canvas pieces. Thank you for your kind comments. X

Watching your video has given me the inspiration to at least think about making my canvas journal into something! I'm not a sewer though so will have to rely on fabric glue. Great video Janet. Thanks for showing what you've created out of 5 smallish pieces of canvas!!!

Thank you! Just to tell you I had not touched a sewing machine since I was at school (long time ago) and took it up again during the covid quarantine when I started doing journaling. However there is no reason you can't do a great job with glue! I am glad you are inspired to do the journal, do share any pics. Janet x

Thank you for showing this. It looks beautiful. I agree, it is quite expensive and easy to make yourself with new or even old fabric. It's nice to have the fabric on the edges, however there wouldn't be that much difference if the pages to begin with were paper. Don't you think? Away is my doubt, I can make my own fabric journal.
@thejournalkeeper Жыл бұрын
No, there is no reason you couldn't have paper pages for your journal!

So many things are overpriced. You can definitely get so much more out of a yard or meter of fabric and make it whatever size you want. I really love how yours turned out, though!!! You are so talented!!

In my opinion, all of the Tim Holtz items are overpriced. Especially since they are all made in China.
