Review of United Airlines Boeing 777-200/ Newark(EWR)- Rome(FCO) Polaris Business Class

After landing in Newark, New Jersey and eating at the secret restaurant, Classified, Mrs. Karnes & Me head over to the second Polaris Lounge they will visit today! Visiting one lounge is exciting, but two! WOW!
The Polaris Lounge in Newark Airport (EWR) is bigger than the Polaris Lounge in Chicago, Illinois at O"Hare Airport (ORD). They are both super nice!
The lounge in Newark had many of the same food offerings. The space is larger and newer. There were more seating options and the dining room in the Newark lounge seemed bigger and more open.
We tried out the shower in Newark and I will say that I (Mrs. Karnes) thought the showers in O"Hare were a little nicer and they did offer more amenities. Please though, a shower at the airport is a luxury!
To soon it was time to leave the Polaris Lounge and make our way to our gate. As sad as it was to leave this beautiful lounge, It was equally as exciting to head toward our plane to Rome. We have wanted to visit Italy for a long time! Any time a "Bucket List" trip is starting.... It's EXCITING!
The walk to the gate wasn't far and I will say that Terminal C in Newark is very well done. We were not in other terminals very long so I do not know what they are truly like, but terminal C was very nice. There were plenty of places to eat and shop and the vibe was calm and inviting.
Our wait was short and we were soon boarding the plane. There is something about boarding a plane for a transatlantic flight! Everyone seemed excited! I found my "Home Sweet Seat: (7L) and moved in! "Me" had seat 6L and sat just in front of me. This seat was roomy and comfortable!
There was a delay with our plane. It seems that a little girl was injured while boarding and had to be taken to a hospital.
Our flight was a little bumpy and the captain came on several times asking everyone to stay seated. Apart from that, it was an excellent flight.
We landed on time and had no problems making our way through the airport in Rome (FCO).
"Me", always thinking of everything, had a driver waiting for us. He helped with the bags and drove us to Rome. It took about 45 minutes. The drive however is beautiful. I enjoyed it very much, even though I was a bit tired.
We were soon at our hotel and able to drop our bags and start exploring!

That’s an awesome lounge experience! Much nicer than the ones we have visited lately! Know the feeling all too well of eating all the lounge food knowing you’re about to just go eat again 😂 Being from Dallas we basically had to sell our souls to American/OneWorld but I loved seeing the United Amenities!

Thank you for watching and for your comment. For several years, our local airport in Cape Girardeau had a United Express flight to Chicago O’Hare. That gave us access to United and we’ve seen some really great lounges with them. We’ve also been inside three different American lounges, usually buying a day pass. The Polaris Lounges are amazing! We are hoping to figure out a way to experience an Amex Centurion lounge this summer.

First, thanks for being a new subscriber. Everything in the lounge (reserved for only business class passengers traveling internationally) is complimentary. We’ve been to the Chicago lounge twice and the Newark lounge once. Both were an incredible way to spend some time in the airport. Mrs Karnes recommends the chocolate chip cookie, a La mode!

Jay, I was thinking about where you might have seen prices. Before we went to the Polaris Lounge in Newark, we visited the “Classified” secret restaurant in Newark airport. That lunch required payment, and the menu had prices listed. But everything in the Polaris lounge is complimentary. Thanks again for watching.
