Fantastic review, Pat! This book and author both sound wonderfully intriguing. I'm on a book buying hiatus at the moment, but I will be adding this book to my wish list, for sure! 😄

Hi Helen. I really enjoyed this one. I thought the characters were well drawn, the themes were relevant, and the river setting is central to all of the characters' lives. I definitely want to read more of Krueger's work now. Hope you're doing well.

Great review Pat. _The River We Remember_ sounds like a great read. _To Kill a Mocking Bird_ is a book I want to re-read now as an adult. I remember reading it in High School and how it resonated with me.

I just finished the first Cork O'Connor mystery the other day and loved it, and can't wait to read the next, but based on your review, I think I may read this and his other stand alone novels before I get back to Cork O'Connor. I think I'm going to give Catcher in the Rye another try. It was not part of any of my classes in school, so I read it on my own in my early 20s and didn't hate it, but didn't like it all that much. With all that you've said about it, I think I might understand it better now, and probably will enjoy it. Thanks!

Aww Kelly, I hope that you do like Holden and Catcher better this time around. I think that sometimes people read it and just see a whining kid, not realizing that he is talking to his psychiatrist in a hospital. I think knowing that changes how people see the novel. But see what you think this time around. I have really loved the three WKK books I've read so far, and I'm about to start on the Cork O'Connor series. Totally unrelated, did you see that I tagged you on today's tag?
