Glad you were able to get on Ofev and yes, it’s pricey. Here in Canada, a year’s supply is about $90,000. Fortunately, our insurance covers it.

No doubt, insurance for me has been wonderful. I hated having to pay it for so many years until I had gotten sick and have to deal with medications now. Never expected this, but so glad we were prepared. Also, we have been able to get the annual deductible paid for ($3k) because of needing the Ofev. Hope your doing well.

I was just diagnosed with IPF a year after surviving Covid, I had the pneumonia from August-December 2020. I knew I probably had PF by spring of this year, I felt better around February then declined, and my CT from December looked worse than when I still had the active virus. Definitely also running into a lot of red tape. Insurance doesn't want to pay, but I told them no medications means more hospitalizations and a lung transplant, which are even more expensive than these pills! Thank goodness for insurance! Now I know why they send referrals to so many support programs. We need all the help we can get. Navigating this illness is so complex, and my pulmonologist is overrun with Delta variant patients now, so that's not helping my case. My goal is to keep my own lungs as long as possible! I am the most worried about the monthly liver function tests, I am a very difficult stick. Trying to advocate for a port, because I get frequent bloodwork and IVs for other conditions also. I can't believe it has already been a year already, August 25 was my 1 year "Covidversary". Thank you for sharing your story, you're the first person I've found going through a similar situation post-Covid. Good luck to you!

Hi Jessica. Thank you so much for your story and please keep us updated on your progress. I would like to add your story to our website: theCovidencounter.com and you to our prayer page if that is ok. This is a very horrible virus with terrible and long lasting effects on many of us, but we fight on with the grace of God.

@@usagainsttheworld6833 Thank you so much for the prayers, I appreciate any positive thoughts. I am praying for all the survivors and families affected by this horrible virus and illness too. I still haven't gotten Ofev. Doctors still aren't sure what's going on with my lungs. There's new "nodules" forming in my right lung which was affected the most. Looks similar to a disease called sarcoidosis, so I'm just on prednisone to try to keep the inflammation under control. It seems hyper-inflammation has been the problem for me. My treatment team says it's still such a new illness, they're learning more about it all the time. So we have to keep hoping and yes have faith!

Hi Rob! THANK YOU SO MUCH for your videos regarding your OFEV results. We are so anxious to hear how you are doing. My dad is considering taking the medication but very worried about side effects. If you don’t have time to do another update video I completely understand, however, could you reply back with your update. We would love to hear from you and hear how you’re doing to help my dad decide or get some perspective on whether he should consider this drug. Thank you so very much and God bless

I hope you were able to see my recent Ofev update from a few days ago. I totally understand the reservation your dad has when you read about the possible side effects. Heart attack and death caught my eye when reading about Ofev. I laugh now, but I was really hesitant at first. After about 10 months of taking this med I have had no issues other than diarrhea (sorry).

Hi Nita. I have gotten so much better overtime, although I still have occasional bad days. It's been almost 9 months since I left the hospital and I do still have shortness of breath and coughing. I don't use hardly use my oxygen anymore though, except maybe twice a week when I sleep or if I'm having a bad day. I take Robitussin when the coughing lingers. Praise the Lord for the healing that your husband is receiving. We pray for you too. I know that my wife had some very rough days caring for me and managing the kids and household. We lift you up in prayer for continued strength peace, and encouragement. Please feel free to contact us anytime with questions, concerns, or the need to vent. :)

Hi Samuel. I take it as part of my medications. I’m doing pretty good on them, Praise the Lord. I do get diarrhea often from the med, but that has been my only side effect. I’ve been taking Ofev for about 8 months now. My other meds have been longer from the time I was in the hospital.
