The last excellent Mercedes where made to the end of 80s. But it's the same on every car: the more Electronic stuff you have, the more it breaks... At least the drive train is still excellent, and that's essential. Mercedes really made good engines!

Thanks for your comment, in short the engine, suspension and body is a tank, the electrics gave problems with years, overall a very nice car to drive, thanks for watching my friend

Hi Jan, nice car and video. Those cars are amazing. My father bought a Mercedes Benz W123 2400d, also known as "Cobra", in the early 2000's. That car was amazing. I remember siting in the back seat, watching my dad driving it, and the genius view from the inside. When I was born, my father took my mom with this car to the hospital. I always loved everything about that car. Once, I remember that while we were driving my father pressed hard the brakes to stop the car, because some animals got on the road out of nowhere. At that point, because I was in the back, not siting down, I literally hit the dashboard with my head, because of the inertia. I cried a lot when my father sold it. Later I heard that the man who bought it from us left the car at a junk yard, or something. I remember begging my parents to take the car home again, but they didn't wanted because they had already bought a new car. Since then, we bought only VWs and an Audi. But I do have respect for Mercedes Benz cars, and especially for the legendar W123 model. Amazing cars.

What a story Dave, thanks very much for that, I had also W123 200 gas, amazing car, glad you like the video and I am also a VW fan, have a Polo 1.9 TDI 2010 model and I serviced it today for it's 50000 km. Very low for 8/9 years, awesome car as well. Keep well my friend

Hi Jan, I've owned 2 mercedes over the years, my 1st one was a W124 E220 excellent car only fault was the hydraulic suspension that finished it for me, the other I still have is an ML W163 diesel 5cyl overall great car but with it's little gremlins but I like the build quality of the German cars, I've had 3 BMW'S too, E23 E34 E36 good cars, good to hear from you, best regards Bruno 👋

Hi Bruno, good to see you as well, I think the ML's are excellent, this is my second W202 and I had a W123 as well, that was a tank, speaking of one, I never had a BMW. Thanks for checking in.

those problems might not be too hard to fix, did you check on any Mercedes forums on the net to see if anyone knows why the gauges act up like they do, I think the rear window might not be too hard to fix.
@jankotze19595 жыл бұрын
The gauges seems to be a capacitor in the cluster and the window will I strip the door panel to see what is the problem, can be a nice video as well

Nice video Jan, do you ever need the defrost back screen there?
@jankotze19595 жыл бұрын
Yes but not melt ice, it fogs up in winter so we need it definitely, thanks for watching my friend

Like you say it must have a loose wire or bad relay for some of the electrical. Mercedes makes a good car.
@jankotze19595 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rusty, these old MB's are known for electrical failures at this age, the engine and drive train is like new, great to see you on my channel
