Hi, I've got a v750, and I'm going to buy SCG-598. What was the problem, did you fix it? Does it work well?
@ArodoraaLP8 жыл бұрын
What shoe mount did you get for that panasonic?

It's the one that comes with the camera. Thanks for watching Ardy and all the best to you.

I'm glad you did a video on the sound quality of the V770 camcorder. I thought there was something wrong with my camera. I've had my V770 camera for about 2 months and I like everything about the camera " except " the sound quality. I have an old JVC (HQ) camcorder that gets a lot better sound quality than this V770. I found that no matter what sound setting or frequency adjustment I make, the sound is really, really " crappy". My voice comes out sound int either muffled or to tinny sounding. Big disappointment in the audio department on this camera. Since finding that I can not adjust or select a setting that sounds good, I have gone to using either a lapel microphone, or the shotgun microphone with the camera. Either one sounds a 1000% better than any of the 5 microphones on the camera. You would think that Panasonic would have had a better sound system considering the price you have to pay for the camera. Thanks for the video, now I know it's just the " nature of the beast " and not something wrong with my camera.

nmsidewinder ya, it's the nature of the beast for sure. Exterior Mike is a way to go although you never get the best of sound it will be usable. All the best to you.

+Bruce Hochstetler Your welcome Bruce. I would suggest you save up to get the Canon HF-G30 for about $1100 from eBay. I bought 2 of these cameras for hunting cameras for $1069 each off eBay on a sale. I use the Takstar in the video above on both those cameras and the sound is very good in that combination. The HF-G30 is a really good camera with a slightly larger imager than even the Canon XA-10 that I tested in Part 1 to this video. It has the LANC terminal on it you will need for the wired remote as well as a very handy 20x optical zoom. If you are hunting out of tree stand, having less movement with a wired remote is very important. If you are set on having the XLR adapters I would look at the HF-G30's big brother, the XA-20. It is the exact same camera with the exception of being able to use an XLR mic not needing to be powered externally by a battery and it comes with infrared shooting for night unlike the G30. You can buy a proprietary mic from Canon - www.ebay.com/itm/291648026562?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT - for about $100-$120 used and around $180 new that will power from the proprietary hot show on the HF-G30. In my opinion, the Takstar does a comparable job as the Canon DM-100 but it requires you to turn on two switches when you start up the camera, the camera power button and the Takstar mic power button. Thanks again Bruce for watching. All the best to you.

When RadNek says "focus" he means "zoom". It is the zoom button he refers two twice. Not getting a word of your tong although using it for years is a common thing. It happens to a lot of people especially when you are attending multiple things at the same time :)

appreciate your message and reviews. will the 750 and 770 work with a wired zoom control?
@RealRadNek9 жыл бұрын
+Bruce Hochstetler Hey Bruce, thank you for watching. In answer to your question, I am pretty sure that it is not possible. You will need to spend more money to get that sort of functionality. However, Panasonic does have a smart phone App option for android and iphone... Here is the instructions for the app found in the owner's manuel here... www.panasonicstore.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/WX970-VX870-V770.pdf - look on page 26 and following. I have the app and it works ok. In hunting situations, I don't have use for it but you may find it useful for hands off control of the camera. If you're not using it for hunting, I could see where it might come in handy at the family reunion or on the family vacation to do selfie filming. There is an irritating 3/4 second delay but you can control record off and on and the zoom along with about 3 to 4 option for zoom speed in and out on the app. You can download the app for the 750 & 770 here... av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/soft/image_app/index.html All the best and thank you once again for watching.

What is a better front-shooter microphone, and how to get one like that?
@RealRadNek6 жыл бұрын
The Takstar SGC598 is one of the best sounding low cost exterior microphones I have used. So I would recommend the one reviewed here. You can find it on eBay for around $25. Thank you for watching and all the best to you.

I can't find find the accessory to fix a microphone on the panasonic hc v750, where did you buy it ?
@RealRadNek8 жыл бұрын
Comes with the camera new. However, if you do not have yours, you can order from panasonic's web site here... shop.panasonic.com/cameras-and-camcorders/camcorders/HC-V770K.html ... Go to this page, scroll down towards bottom and you will find "Accessories" in black lettering. Under this click on the blue lettered heading titled "Other" and you can buy it there for $6.99 and I am sure a few dollars for shipping. All the best and thanks for watching. BTW, it does not matter that this is the 770. They are the exact same cold shoe and it fits identically with either camera.

HOw the pic quality when u zoom in for close shots? for is get blurry or grainy ?
@RealRadNek7 жыл бұрын
As long as you zoom in using the optical zoom you will still have 1080P which is high definition for this camera. But if you set the camera to use the digital zoom, you start losing pixels and the image begins to granulate. My role of filming is to always set the camera on the highest definition because you can always dumb video down but you cannot enhance the video quality from lower quality video without losing clarity. I also almost never use the digital zoom because you can do the same thing while editing the video. Does that make sense? All the best and thank you for watching.

Is there mic gain control on the camera? ?
@RealRadNek9 жыл бұрын
+Jose Sarmiento Well, yes, sort of. It has pre-set "Sound Scene Select" choices which include auto, speech, festival, music, nature, & customize. Under customize it gives you some ability to adjust the sound but gain only has two choices, normal or attenuate. When you choose attenuate, you can adjust the frequency response and directional (surround or mono) however it is very cumbersome working through the on screen selection choices so changing on the fly will not be possible. You will need to spend more money to get the adjustments readily available at your finger tip. Thanks for watching Jose and all the best.
@RealRadNek9 жыл бұрын
+Jose Sarmiento Sorry, forgot to mention, the choices are only available with the on-board mic. When you add an exterior mic, your audio will be at the mercy of the mic as all those settings go away on the selection screen.
@JoseVera209 жыл бұрын
Bowhunting RadNek I have an external dynamic mic. Can I control the gain with that? ? I record my drums with one Audix d6 and since I just bought this camera I just need the option to have the almost least gain possible so that I won't pick up any other sounds
@RealRadNek9 жыл бұрын
That I am not sure of Jose. For the complete control you are probably desiring my assumption would be that you need to find a mini mixer to run the exterior sound through before it gets to the mic unless the mic has volume and gain capabilities. All the best to you.
@rlukinn8 жыл бұрын
is it wind proof?
@RealRadNek8 жыл бұрын
I don't believe any mic is wind proof but if you use the foam cover that comes with it, along with a wind sock you need to buy seperately like this one... www.ebay.com/itm/Gray-Furry-Shotgun-Microphone-Windscreen-Windshield-Muff-Reduce-Wind-Noise-/252232745238?hash=item3aba3e4116:g:HewAAOSwZG9WhRTg ... then this mic will do well in windy conditions. I have a windsock similar to this one. All the best and thanks for watching.
