I'm watching this review almost 7 years after it was published and having already purchased the FZ300. However, this is the most comprehensive but brief review of this camera I have watched to date. It highlights all the pros: the obvious ones such as the constant F2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range, the weather sealing, the build quality, etc, and the not so apparent ones such as the advantages of the 4K picture modes and the ability to control external flashes. It also factually mentions the cons of a small sensor camera and the placement of the battery door. Awesome comprehensive review! Keep it up. Nobody else has mentioned the ability to control external flash except Graham Houghton, but that was in a series of several videos. My wishlist for FZ300 Mark II is constant aperture 2.0 lens of 20-800 mm with a 1-inch type sensor and manual zoom ring and manual focus ring with inbuilt ND filters like FZ2500. Are you listening, Panasonic? Would buy it for 5 times the price of thr FZ300.

All cameras have their limitations. Among others, I own this camera and only use it outside with ISOs between 100 and 200. Very satisfied.

Lumix FZ300 is the best 1.2/3 sensor camera EVER made, both image quality wise and video. That sweet, silent, cristal clear f2.8 at 600mm bokeh killer lens. Even in 2019 it has no 1.2/3 sensor competitors. It can even challenge fz1000/2000, same dynimic range and colours. Had to sell it, badly needed money, but I will buy it again and forget buying another camera until FZ400 comes out.

Good review. Have you tried the EZ or i-zoom for 4K video yet? If so, is the quality good?

Nice review. But I think you forgot to mention the maximum shutter speed both for mechanical and electronic. An information that's a must on every review. And another thing, is there a built-in ND filter? Thanks.
@SteedDigital18 жыл бұрын
None built in. Electronic is 1/16000 and mechanical is 1/4000 (if I remember right).

Can you recommend an entry-level dslr with a bigger sensor for better quality images that can take great high quality video with good focusing on fast objects/people. I would really appreciate it

Almost perfect. If it has a built-in ND filter. I'll consider this

and also which camera has an inbuilt nd filter for under $600 and is not bloody heavy and large
@koolkutz77 жыл бұрын
I am still going to buy one for video, even though it has no built-in ND filters (even though the FZ2000 has them!). I have bought a Hoya ND4 filter so that should help control the light in bright situations. Not perfect, but I'll work with it.

I need HELP!! I don't know which one to have I'm between this one and the Nikon D3400. I want to use the camera mainly for recording, but I want be able to take good pictures too. so yeah which one is better ??
@gdgtcompare7 жыл бұрын
Lumix can shoot in 4K, but it has much weaker battery and it shoots at lower FPS..As far as taking pictures, Nikon should be better.

The fact is that the more you zoom in the more you have to lower your shutter speed
@koolkutz77 жыл бұрын
I think it's the opposite; you always should have a shutter speed that is equal to/higher than your focal length. For example at 100mm I would recommend using 1/125th sec for regular subjects. However, for fast moving subjects you will need a fast shutter speed regardless of focal length; e.g. birds in flight - 1/1000th sec or more to 'freeze' the movement.

@@MeanGeneSanDiego Absolutely YES, I had this camera, the more you zoom in, the lower your shutter speed is, and too keep the shutter up, you need to crank up ISO
