Ah, I tried the thing you recommended, heating the beans before grinding them. You were right, it improves the coffee. 3 points about this- 1. I usually put some water in a cup and run it thru the microwave to warm up the cup, now I put the beans in at the same time and when the cup is hot the beans are good to go. Quick and dirty technique. Praticality. 2. Your idea of letting the coffee `blossom` with a little water, turning off the pump after a second or two, letting the coffee `blossom` and then turning the pump back on. That didn`t work, However it lead to an interesting discovery. My cheapo coffee machine drips after it`s switched off, so I put a cup to collect the drips. When i come back for my second cup, I prepare everything, then last thing, I pour the drips over the puck. and then make coffee normally. This works wonderfully. The coffee is richer and stronger. 3. My vice is `cafe, pousse cafe`, coffee and liqueurs. I`m connoisseur of fruit brandies, calvados, slivovitch, brandy and grappa, along with the classic liqueurs, Grand Marnier, Bendictine, Spanish ` Quarante y Tres` and of course Chartreuse. Let me recommend a more unusual one. Try `Luxardo Perla Dry`. Its`s been made by the same family since 1821, that is, for nigh on 200 years they`ve been perfecting the recipe. Apparently it was drunk by Kaiser Franz the first of Austria and his Majesty King Umberto of Italy, so you are in good company. Profit from the democratization of luxury. It`s a drink worthy of kings and emperors. . Enjoy.

As a coffee lover, I was a excited to try this when a friend brought it to a party. Has pretty much the same response. it's ridiculously oversweet and has that fake generic coffee extract flavor? Not a fan. There are plenty of good beers out there with coffee infusions, usually of the darker variety (stouts/porters), PBR coffee is definitely not among these. I make my own beer and have included coffee with a couple recipes, and have had really good luck. It take much at all to get a nice coffee flavor, and brewing it yourself means you can use whatever coffee you want. I usually go with a medium-dark blend. 4oz tincture with a 1:1 ratio of coffee/vodka is enough for a 5 gallon batch, in the secondary. You can probably get away with primary, but I've never tried it.
