I have used Peak Refuel food when I go camping and I have been very pleased with how well they cook up and the taste and texture. Some of the Mountain House meals I have had were "iffy" on the rehydration, but never had an issue with the Peak Refuel. Some of the meals tend to be a little more on the "bland" side, but it is easy enough to add some extra flavor, but everyone's desires in food are different. Their beef pasta marinara is my favorite and the three-bean chili mac is pretty good, although I found it is way better with some MRE cheese spread and hot sauce. I do agree it's a bit pricier, but I agree if you can afford it, it's worth keeping around.

Thanks for the review. Can't help but wonder how many meals of rice, beans, or pasta, with a veggie and meat chunks, I could pack away for the price of a couple of those. So, I do get the point about it being a special case meal. Maybe if weight, space, and time are a mission critical consideration.
