The WDR Rockpalast channel here on the yootoobs had a live stream for Riot V at the Rock Hard Festival 2024. If you're a fan of the band it's a must watch. They are on fire and plenty of Riot classics are in the mix. Todd Michael Hall has an unbelievable set of pipes.

Anyone who has lost track of Riot since Fire Down Under or ThunderSteel, I would advise them to listen to The Privilege of Power and Immortal Soul. Those albums are as good as the early ones, imo.

Idk if pete did reviews of the previous Albuns buy glad to see hes trying riot v. My understanding is he lost interests before or after thundersteel. Glad hes giving riot some love. Top 5 album of the year for me.

When I posted my little mini review on "the review crew" three weeks ago, I noted that I was rushing the review (probably cuz I hadn't given it the obligatory three full listens) and I gave it 3.5/5 stars. That was rushed. Easy 4/5 stars. Kick ass USPM done right by seasoned veterans.

Riot V has been really great. If you never listened to Unleash The Fire album from 2014 check out Metal Warrior, Return of the Outlaw, and Take Me Back. That was a killer album!

Been listening to this more than I expected, I only knew Riot's hits and the Immortal Soul album from before. Some songs hits better than others (for me: Before This Time, Lost Dreams, No More). But this is fun, lighthearted borderline classic heavy/power metal.

It is funny how different you talk about Riot than europeans or japanese do. Outside your country Thundersteel is by far their biggest album. They played here at rockhard festival a month ago and it was broadcasted on a big tv station. As ever the people loved all songs old and new. And every song in the set sounds like riot. I love everything. Restless breed and Privelige of power are maybe my favourites.

8/10 really good album. With Todd they are nearly as good as in their first decade. Nowadays more old school metal than with Mark Reale.

When I saw the title I thought is was a Riot vs Mean Streets battle, wondering why the only band called Mean Streets that I knew of was a 70's punk band. Riot never really hit the highs that I hoped for when purchasing Narita upon release, which itself, like all of their releases, too patchy to want to part with my hard earned dosh.

Yeah they have couple members from the late 80s,so it’s not like everyone is completely new in the band.

It's not like they have suddenly appeared out of nowhere using the Riot name. The band has carried on and there has been a long transition period and albums put out with members gradually changing. It's not the same as your example. When Mark Reale died they recognised that they had no founding members left by changing the band name slightly.

Don Van Stavern started playing with Mark Reale in 1984. Mike Flyntz has been in the band for over 30yrs. Frank Gilchriest has been in the band for almost twenty yrs. If you need more space to list your Beatles resume' you can use the back of the paper.

That's a poor analogy. The recording lineup of the Beatles was only ever John, Paul, George, and Ringo. So, using your logic, Iron Maiden should have changed their name when Paul Di'Anno left?
