I used to think that the armor he wore was in brown and black, because the version of the show I watched so very dark. I thought Goku wore red instead of orange. I didn't notice the bluish tint until Dragon Ball Kai. In kai Nappa does wear brown armor in his first appearance and the Arlian episode.
