Gotta say, if you haven't seen Sesame Street since the early or mid-'90s, whatever you remember of it, it was much, much, MUCH closer to what it was like when it started than it is now. The remarkable thing about that show was how long it really didn't change much. Sure, some change is inevitable when something lasts for so long, but overall, a kid watching in 1972, 1982 and 1992 would largely be watching the same show. Not until it passed its 30-year mark did time really start catching up with it, for a variety of different reasons. Now it's completely unrecognizable. That's not editorializing, it's just a statement of fact. There's pretty much nothing left of the show that used to have that title, save FOR that title, a few of the characters, and the setting (and even that third one is barely recognizable).

I'm someone who likes either version of Oscar but to be honest I prefer the original design of big bird to his current design.

Kermit the Frog used to be on Sesame Street as a news reporter. Caroll Spinney wasn't happy about the way Big Bird was in the early seasons. It was Caroll Spinney, who made Big Bird alot better in the later seasons. The first actor who played Gordon was Matt Robinson. Robin Williams did an episode of Sesame Street. They also had other movie actors appeared in an episode of Sesame Street. Sesame Street used to an hour show and in the later seasons, each episode of Sesame Street became 30 minutes.

Yes, it's interesting when you go back and watch the previous episodes of Sesame Street, and you see... just how different it was. Like how, in the earlier episodes, Big Bird had a little bit more of that... Barney the Dinosaur, sort of voice, until it ultimately evolved into the Big Bird voice that we know today. How, in the earlier episodes, they were more centered around Big Bird, and they were more Big Bird's stories. I mean, people may forget that... Big Bird was the star of Sesame Street. Sesame Street was very much the Big Bird show. Until... Elmo came along, and... then it ultimately ended up becoming The Elmo Show. And... if he were gonna be honest, I almost wonder how that made Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer for Big Bird, feel. Knowing that... the show use to be all about his Muppet, and then it ultimately ended up becoming all about Kevin Clash's Muppet. Eh, he probably figured: "HEY, I'M GETTING PAID A CRAP TON OF MONEY! Doesn't matter."
