Might be a tad long for our tastes on Fujifilm due to the crop-factor! But would be lovely to see a 300mm F4 which was similarly compact and produced the same quality images 😍

Nikon, as for sure you know, already has 3 high quality and very light long telephotos, 400/4.5 1160g, 600/6.3 1390g and a bit bigger and heaftier 800/6.3 2385g, so I doubt that Sigma will ever release this one for Z mount. But never say never...

Probably depends more on whether Nikon ever licence the mount to them… but Tamron have it, so hopefully in the future we’ll see Sigma producing Nikon Z mount lenses as well - it’s good for people to have choice and especially when Sigma are filling some gaps in the market and filling them with great quality lenses at that! I think you should have mentioned that you can not use a Sony tele converter with this lens. That is a major downside.

just like other reviews you need to talk about 500 f4 sport lens too compare! you cant say it's sharp every time without comparing other lenses! if you tell people buy buy reviews doesnt work any more COMPARE LENSES thats what people want to know

We don’t need to compare it to another lens to say that this is sharp. The images we got from this were very sharp - it’s very impressive optically and even more so for the price and size. The other issue is… there’s not really anything to compare this to. This is a pretty unique lens as the only 500mm prime available for Sony FE or L-mount. Not much point comparing it to a lens designed for Canon/Nikon DSLR’s and at almost double the price point. Also little point comparing to Sony’s 400 and 600mm GM options at over £10,000. If Sigma were to release this in Z mount at some point, then we’d probably look to doing a comparison to the Nikon AF-S 500mm PF lens, but right now this is filling a niche with little to compare it to. So the question for this lens isn’t, “how does it compare to…?” It’s “is it any good? Does it fulfil its role as a compact, lightweight, good quality telephoto prime lens?” And it‘a a very good, sharp lens optically which also ticks all those boxes 👍🏻

You always have to compare lenses not helping sigma to sell a new lens making money and thats what you are doing right now! If i want to buy a new lens i always compare lenses before buying! Thats what many people do! Thats why i dont like these reviews IT'S AL ABOUT HELPING SIGMA TO SELL NOT TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT'S BETTER! Reviews should be helpful not MAKING MONEY FOR SIGMA YOU THINK ABOUT THAT! it's not unique either we have many 500 mm lenses nikon has it canon has it so yes you should compare to help people before buying NOT ONLY TALK ABOUT WEIGHT AND IT'S SHARP!

@@hallodaar-r6m I was able to test this vs my 200-600 and unfortunately the Sony won the sharpness challenge pretty easily. I’ll try and get another copy to confirm the sigma results however it is not looking very bright 😅

@@MotoXposure That's interesting as my last use of the Sony 200-600mm gave me images which were as I'd expect for a lens at that price and offering such versatility and at that price point - averagely sharp but not on a par with a G Master or Canon L lens (obviously!) The Sigma 500mm for this video on the other hand was tack sharp, much more impressive than the Sony 200-600mm from my own experience with it. I'm sure someone will do a review with test charts and what-not down the line... but we like to show real-world usage, so it won't be us!
