Hey guys, hope the light background music wasnt to bad... still figuring out the new mic, the white noise I was trying to cover was more distracting I promise. I realize the audio sounds a bit hollow... and Im working on it 👍

Got one and haven’t noticed it being hard to unlock or sharp in the Spyder hole. Highly recommend this for office or dress carry, sooo thin and light yet a good useable length of blade and handle, I’m 6-4 and no problems. Highly recommend!

Great value for sure, and as we've seen Spyderco is doing a great job on the HT so the XHP is a wicked slicer with that thin blade. Personally my NIB Chaparral didn't have any real issues with sharp edges and there's so much good going on with this knife that it gets a ton of pocket time for me, more so in the summer when in shorts a lot.

For anyone out there that finds their Spydercos have edges that are too sharp, I'd suggest soaking your hands in brine and spear punching pots of gravel to loose those wimpy 'office fingers'.

This is a perfect secondary knife for me. I do agree it's a tough sell against the Bugout.

Good review. I bought one in October this year and was very torn between this and the bugout. QC inconsistencies on BO made me go for Chaparral. I got it new from a distributor and the edges on the lockbar were already visibly crowned, but the tension was still hell. It loosened up somewhat with use.

I would assume that since I wear large to xl gloves this is probably too small. Is a decent looking blade not really the size I usually go for. Enjoyed the review. Look forward to another.

Great review. I have taken the sharp edge down on one import Spydey-hole (an old Tenacious) that was chopping me up. I've also recontoured some FRN scales and added jimping with diamond files to my Salt series to make them fit the hand waaaay better for the specific boating task. I want this knife for my partner, and I think I'd chamfer that area around the mid-back lock, too, and add some jimping to it. And I would definitely weaken the spring if it's like you say, some back locks are too hard for her already. Bend the spring a little or hit it with a torch. Only aesthetic issues I have are the scales cover part of the hole and the tail of the scale doesn't line up with the blade when closed.

Your intros are the best! If I a knife has a Spyder hole, I expect to be able to flick it open. If I can't, I'm going to feel a little let down. This one is just a little small for me personally, but I can see why a lot of people really like it. That being said, the Chaparral with with Raffir Noble scales is a pretty tempting. I'd love to see them use those scales on something like a Manix.

I like mine more than I thought I would. I usually prefer a bit bigger knife, but it's so comfortable in hand, and it slices like a laser. Mine is actually surprisingly fidget-able considering its a lock back. I have no problem spydie flicking it. It's far from the best fidget flipper for sure, but I still find myself fidgeting with it a lot when I'm carrying it, What can I say..I'm a dedicated fidgeter..it's just what I do.lol.

Hey Jack! Like the review. Agree with most everything you said. It has some flaws, but something makes me absolutely love it. I can't really express what makes me love it so much, but I do. Just one of those things I guess.

I completely understand, I got a knife as a loaner that I was on the fence on if I even wanted to check it out. Ended up being something I absolutely love and bought from the owner lol.
