I have some grades of steadtler pencils . Superb pencils . I have been using them for past 22 years nothing can beat them. I have started using derwent grade pencils also recently. Superb.

Some say that the: 'cleos red' graphite pencils by Cretacolor are equivalent to Staedtler's Mars Lumograph 100 graphite pencils, as far as darkness in concerned. Rumor has it, that the 9B 'cleos' is as dark as a 8B mars 100 & a 9XXB. So that would be a quite interesting comparison with the 'unis'. Thank you for today's review.

I have been loving your reviews so far. Thank you for sharing. Have you tried the Caran D'ache Grafwood pencils? My friend who is a drafter used to swear by Staedtler Mars until he tried the grafwood, he hasn't used anything else since then. Or have you tried the Tombow Mono 100? Not the plain Tombow Mono, the 100 series.

The Caran D’ache pencils are excellent...but from my review the are outrageously expensive. Like $3.50 USD each and up. I just bought a box of Mitsubishi Hi Uni pencils (10B) 12 for $1.40 USD each. The Grafwoods aren’t twice as good as a Hi Uni IMHO.
