The whole Aaliyah scandal had me shook the most. Every adult around her failed her..especially the one dude who’s literally on tv admitting that he helped make this illegal marriage official by forging her age. I CANNOT. (Side note: I wish she was still here 😪)

He looked nervous too! But still tried to brush it off in some weird, "they always made each other laugh" kind of way. I think he should be locked up to for altering legal documents and trying to protect the fact that RK impregnated an underage girl. He didn't want to stop that flow of money. Aaliyah even gave him a look as in "help"... but he chose $$$$ and to hide his reputation. Lock him up

Obviously Aaliyah mom wasn't around 100% of the time. Her uncle was her Manager and would drop her off to the studio to work with R.Kelly. Mama can zip it if she was so involved where did he get the chance to marry her under age child.

I’m giving her mom the side eye! Leaving your 12 year old daughter with a random man (R kelly & other producers). The type of songs she was singing at the age of 15 or 14 was not normal. Any sane mother would never let there underage child sing a song called “Age ain’t nothing but a number”.

Michelline Pierre idk why she thinks that people are trying to damage Aaliyah’s legacy. She was a victim, that grown man was taking advantage a 15 year old. I understand she’s still mourning and wants to protect her late daughter, but she’s kinda the doing most. (I wish we could go back in time & stop her from getting on that lil bitty ass plane so she could still be here blessing us with her presence & music, but also so we can get her side of the story).

It wasnt her fault that R kelly prey on her and took advantage of her whether it physically, sexually, emotionally and/ or mentally.

souliscious1 I thought I had the worst mom in the world, because I could never go anywhere until I was about a senior in high school. All sleepovers, parties, EVERYTHING either had to be at my house, or I didn’t go. Even family members my mom didn’t fully trust. I thought I was missing out on SO much, but I’m grateful and I understand now. I have a son of my own now, and I act the same way, maybe even more so.

My daughter is 10 and she's with me all the time because I'm a stay at home mom. Sometimes I would love some time alone but I don't trust anyone. When my husband is home, he's with her. It's sad that the black community has let so many little black girls down by turning a blind eye to rape, molestation, etc. We tend to blame the young victims by saying she's "fast" or she wasn't "raised". We must do better. Lastly, if you see something please say something. God Bless.

R. Kelly should've been in jail a long time ago. He preyed on and groomed all of those young girls. I truly do believe he paid off Sparkle's family. The saddest part of the documentary for me was seeing the footage of Aaliyah with her predator watching intently how she conducts herself being interviewed. That let me know Aaliyah had already been groomed and coached by R. Kelly. Also, the adults failed Aaliyah. They knew what R. Kelly was doing to this child, but made a conscious decision to remain silent because they wanted their paycheck. Andrea's story is a sad one. He pulled a Rapunzel move on her - and she didn't see it coming at all. I would go out of my mind being locked away and guarded daily. He isolated her from her family and for the most part human contact. The woman is still traumatized by her ordeal. I hope she's getting the help to recover.

Ashley, the tour manager Demetrius, put all this in the book he released a few years ago. It just flew under the radar. As far as all the young artists singing about sex, well honestly and sadly, most of these 14 yr olds outside of the industry are already having sex. I feel like older men have been taking advantage of young girls. In the hood, it’s somewhat normalized.

What R Kelly did, is prevalent in the entertainment industry. When you see all these start committing suicide, or on drugs, it is a reason for it. Also it is not always suicide. Mark my words, the heat is coming on Kelly hard. He knows others with the same " preferences" in the industry, and to keep him from talking he will turn up dead. As a community we need to start holding these men like this accountable. Whether they are preachers, teachers, policemen, entertainers and otherwise. We also need to stop sexualizing young boys and girls.
