I own a G2c and G3. One thing that I like better on the G2c is the style of the loaded chamber indicator - a pop-up that you can feel. The G3 and, now, the G3c have a different type that you can only see from the top and you must have light to see it - which is not technically and indicator, just a hole to see into the chamber. The pop-up on the G2c allows you to see it from the side (and it has red paint) and also feel it (if you were in a low light or totally dark situation).

I think the sights, extra mag, and better trigger are worth the upgrade. For me the sights are the weak link on the G2c. As soon as I can find one on a shelf I'm getting one and selling my G2c. ✌️

I have four of the older pt111 g2s. On two of them had to pull out the striker and clean the channel it sits in and then dry fire a couple hundred times to get rid of a funky catch in the trigger. Once I did that and got used to how far back I needed to pull the trigger before the break, I now love these guns. They eat EVERYTHING I have put into them with NO malfunctions. No FTE, no failures of any kind! Great $200 guns.

Yeah, I had the PT111 for a while. Good edc budget gun with good ammo capacity, but traded it for something else due to the trigger. I may have to check the g3c out real soon

@@ryanscharadin Galloway Precision has an optic mounting plate that replaces the rear sight and uses the dovetail to hang an optic off most G2, G2C, G3, etc.. pistols. Costs $25 and no permanent drilling required.

I have never been a taurus fan always heard bad things about them never took the time to try one, until just recently I seen the g2c and done my own homework I looked all over the net for good reviews and bad reviews to my surprise I didn't find the bad I found out that the g2c is a solid pistol very dependable and perhaps the best bang for my money needless to say I'm super happy with my choice & I'm very confident that this g3c will be the same & I will be adding one or 3 to my collection.

You have the first generation PT-111 G2, with slide lock . The G2c came out only a year or so ago. G3c looks great! Light rail looks slighty longer too!

@Jack Hook actually, it replaced the Millenium Pro G2 in 2018. I ordered mine through Cabela's in mid 2018, and received the newly released G2C instead. No complaints about it at all.

I don't like it not having the chamber loaded tactile indicator, but a better trigger might be nice. The chamber loaded peephole works OK in daytime but not at all at night. I inquired if the reason they did it was to allow for optics in the future, but they would confirm nor deny... If they get an optics ready G3C, I might upgrade, but til then, I'll carry my G2C every day.

I've never owned a Taurus. I've owned a 2 Glocks, A Springfield XD, a Walther PPS m2, and a Sig P365. That being said, these things have always had me curious. No joke, anyone I have known that has owned a Taurus loved it. The people who shit on them, tend to have never handled one. This seriously looks like a great gun for the price. I don't know if I'll pick one up because guns are something I will splurge on and an extra $200 for a Glock doesn't feel like a big deal to me. For someone who has to put food on the table for their family and needs protection, these things honestly seem like a hell of a deal.

It appears that Taurus got their sh** together and built some solid guns, the new guns -G2, and G3 appear well received. Not my first choice, But I will have one just for the sake of conversation. The front rail goes a little deeper towards the trigger guard. The extra mag that it includes (3 in g3c, only 2 with g2c) makes it the same price as the G2C. G3C is floating around at several retailers for $249.99

I'm a Glock fan boy but have been impressed with the G3 and G3c. I now have three and trust them all, they are a lot of gun for the money and it's the handgun I recommend to new shooters. I tell people to think of it as a Glock with a thumb safety.

I've carried quite a few postols since I got a ccw and my old pt111 millennium g2 was my favorite to carry. It's not nearly as smooth as my sig p320 nor as accurate. That being said the Taurus has the restrike capability wich I think every gun should have and it's much easier to carry then the p320. I also like the Taurus safety lever. It simple but effective. If this gun is under 250$ with 3 mags this gun is the gun to buy and carry.

I am one of the few I think that has been able to actually find a G3c. The chain store I bought from never has correct website "in stock" labeling. So I kept calling on the afternoon of the delvieries and the next day. After a month or so, on a Tuesday, I called and "Yes, we have two that just came in". I was on my Bike and at the store in about 45 minutes. The store is 40 miles away. Glad I kept calling. I have shot but dont own a G2c and if I had owned one, I wouldnt run out and buy the G3c unless you just want to add to a collection for some reason. I'd spend my money on something else. Do you have for example a hammer fired semi like the Taurus TH9 or TH9c? I have the TH9 full size on order and awaiting shipment.

About the stippling: You appear to have the second gen G2 (slide on yours says "PT111 G2", slide on mine says "G2c") not the third gen G2c. Anyway, the 3rd gen, G2c, which I DO have, has the stippling pads the same size as yours, but raised like the new G3c.

I agree with Ian Holland - there's not enough difference to make me trade in my G2c for a G3c. MAYBE after my G2c dies for good, but not now. But one thing on the G3c that is NOT an improvement, is the loaded indicator. What good is a sight indicator if it's dark out or in a dark house? I can feel my indicator on my G2c. And calling it "another mechanical" part that's been removed, means nothing. Even if that part malfunctions, it doesn't not affect its operation.

I agree I love the mechanical indicator way more and contrary to what he says you can't actually see the rounds in the gun. I know because the Rugers and smith and wessons have them and when the brass is dirty or using Tula ammo you can't see spit, even in day light. Also like you I love the ability to feel it in the dark I also prefer the adjustable rear sights which allow for better accuracy. Glad I bought mine when I did.

It is nice that Taurus left that silly slide lock when they made the G2C. I had a bad extractor after about 5,000 rounds. The double feeds made removal of the magazine VERY challenging. The scallops to aid in mag removal on the G3C are a welcome edition in my opinion. I would like to see someone to malfunction drills with both to see if it really is different.

@@hulado he's referring to the Taurus Security System lockout that was featured on the Millenium Pro G2 that used a key to lock the slide, and prevent someone without the key from firing the pistol. G2C eliminated that feature.

I have been looking at the G2c for a while and think I will "pull the trigger" on getting this instead. Tarus has been listening to their customers and have upgraded everything that had a lot of complaints on the G2c with the new G3c. Just handle a g3 first before going with a c model, they're very easily concealed in the same holster can barely tell a difference when carrying, we have a g2c and g3, I eventually realized I can easily carry a g17 iwb so there's that too I'll gladly trade a little comfort for performance and capacity

Since you can use G3, or Sig P226 mags in the G2C or G3C, that's not necessarily a disadvantage. Both mags fit and fully function with slide lock-back when empty. Canik mags will function, but without the lock back.

Yes, the raised chamber indicator is a premium feature. You can tell it’s loaded in the dark. That’s a no brainer.

It's nice to see that they've improved the rear sight but using a Glock dovetail. But what about the front sight as it is screwed in much like a Glock. Will it accept Glock front sights or is it still too proprietary size for Taurus only? No sense in upgrading sights and using Glock dovetail for one site at the other site is not also Glock compatible. I only ask cuz everybody talks about Glock rear sight but they never mention the front sight.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but looking at the barrel length and the overall length, this firearm seems more like a sub-compact than just a compact. And that is very good for EDC or conceal carry.

Sub-compact and compact are sometimes difficult to separate. This is a bit heavier than the average sub -compact, and thicker due to the double stack, and I've heard it referred to as both.

I have 3 gripes with the G3C. The new sights are difficult to pick up. The grip texture is max aggressive, it's far too abrasive. The take up on the trigger is about a mile long. Overall I like the gun and think its worth the money. I don't think its an "upgrade" its just slightly different.

I think the grip panel is the same as the g2c the one you're comparing it to it the pt111 g2 still great comparison but they had a recent upgrade a couple years ago to the g2c. I have own each the millennium pt111 the pt111 g2 and the g2c and I think the g3c will be amazing specially with Glock sights

You can order one, and they will notify you when the pistol is available for pick-up. I ran into this when the Millennium PRO PT111 G2 was on sale, but sold out. I ordered it, then was notified it had arrived, to find out I got a brand-new G2C, since the PT111 was replaced. Best way to overcome the "out of stock" problem, because they'll sell as soon as they hit the counter.

If you buy a G2c, G3c G3 don't forget to clean the striker and pin. Your trigger will feel gritty, and you'll think something's wrong. (easy fix)

I have one. I hate the feel of the trigger pull. Especially in the single action position. The take up feels a mile long. I also have incidentally hit the mag release a cpl of times. My hands are on the larger size so I have to be more disciplined in how I grip the gun to not hit that mag release. Other than that I like it. Think my Hell cat is far superior though.
