Following updates in several collections in recent years, with revamped Carrera and Monaco lines, TAG Heuer is ready to present its updated Aquaracer 300 collection. More refined yet still very recognisable, the new range has been fully revamped without losing its DNA. Taking a look at its origins, which can be traced back to the 2000-series from the early 1980s, TAG Heuer presents this year a new collection for its diver's watch, the new Aquaracer Professional 300 Collection. And we review the black dial model today.

Although it does come with functional changes, edged bezel for better grip, sword hands with bicolor luminosity that distinguishes hour/minutes and a true tool watch clasp (yes it's the Oris rubber strap clasp slider), it's not a watch I would rush to go and buy. Might be another one watch that will grow on your over time. The ceramic insert is a fine addition and it's always a must (for me) when buying a diver watch. I do see some Omega SM here...Thank you for one more great review, looking forward to the next.

I factory direct ordered the Aquaracer 844 LE, I have to wait but I hope it looks as good in real life as it does in the pictures. The updated, old school design is what I first loved about the Brand.

Excellent balance. Bigger bezzel makes smaller the dial like 41. More luxurious and quality then Last model. The cheaper omega seamstrer with personality ❤️

You know i own the green Oris with the crappy SELITTA mov but the watch is very accurate for the price point under 5 sec a day not in comparison with the new cal 400 and 6 days power reserve however i still prefer the Green dial lol As for this TAG its freaking nice i like the 3D looking markers but for the price SELITTA ? ORIS aquis green is less expensive.

Black Bay makes homage Cheap Rolexes this Tag has a unique design and history. Oris is a great watch! But non war for guys will buy Tag based on branding

Previous model, whas more haracter. This one, is mix design, tag heuer and Omega. Next problem, is size, 36 mm, is too small, 43mm is too big for me. In my opinion, this watch, lost identity. I prefer previous model 😊.

I actually think they did a wonderful job, unlike the last version there’s actually a ton of innovation here. The bezel and index shapes are unique and well done. The date bubble is on the inside of the lens which is very unique. And the bracelet, unlike the last one which was just shit, now has a sliding adjustment (as every diver should). There’s no way I would wear one over a Seamaster, and I have a Calibre 5 Carrera and that movement is absolutely horrible, it’s so hard to wind it’s unbelievable uncomfortable, my $500 Tissot Powermatic 80 Silicium is a much better movement, and even from the videos I can tell the dial finishing just isn’t all that nice, so ultimately not for me. But it’s miles ahead of what the last one was and at least they’re trying. I’m super impressed to see that adjustable bracelet, hope it actually works well. Good for Tag Heuer on making these updates

While I agree that this movement should not be in an almost 3,000 Euros watch, I completely disagree that it is garbage. It is a super reliable movement with great accuracy. People need to get over all this COSC and METAS stuff. Just because it's not officially certified, doesn't mean it's running worse. The Sellita Sw200 is also found with COSC certification in a lot of watches. The dial finishing furthermore is really good, on par with other watches in that price range. Compared to the old Aquaracer, this one is a serious step up. Only thing that really bothers me is the bezel action. Only 60 clicks is a step back, and turning it lacks the heft and premium feel of a Black Bay for example, which I also own.

I would prefer a COSC on the movement, but it's a great movement and is used in many more expensive watches, such as the Tudor 36 and 41 BB s&g

Are you blind ? The bezel loses the relief engraving, the hands are straight outta the Omega 2254.50 and they loses dual lume, just like indexes. The said indexes are indeed unique octogons, but you can only see that up close and from a distance they look A LOT generic, unlike the older ones. The Calibre 5 script is now gone, now it's just "Automatic". I don't know where you have that knowledge about Calibre 5, but it's one workhorse of a movement. SW200 based, élaboré grade, finely tuned by Tag Heuer before putting into any watch, Formula 1, Carrera or Aquaracer. You're talking nonsense here. Powermatic 80 Silicium is fine but unlike Calibre 5 this movement was never designed to be serviced, but to be tossed away and replaced. I think it kills the soul of the watch in the process but that's only my opinion. Still, can't believe you've earned 9 likes by talking such nonsense. The only upgrade isn't even the watch itself but the bracelet. You might want to get the previous gen Aquaracer and fit a current gen bracelet to it. That's about it. Feels like Tag Heuer goes from downgrade to downgrade, The gen before the previous gen Aquaracer was 500m WR with applied logo and sapphire caseback. Imagine losing both transparent caseback and 200m of WR in "upgrading".

Thank you you're spot on. What he named as the 'improvenents' of this model, actually have major drawbacks as well. It's in the beholders eyes. But I agree the last gen is better. I am searching for a last gen used on chrono24. Any advice to go with 43mm or 41mm? My wrist is 7.25 inches so I could rock both. The 43 seems on the heavy side, at 212 grams, that's my only dilemma with it. The 41 is light weight but looks a lil too small in pictures. I'm torn. Wish they had made a 42.

Is it decent? Yes. Is it great? No. Is it a good buy? Not at 2800-3000 USD. 43mm is too large, 36mm is good, but still meh. Best to buy it with a good discount. But there are many great divers out there.

Jesus, is it that difficult for TAG Heuer to keep the watch dial dust free? Many brands solved this problem in watches that are 50 times cheaper than this aquaracer. Also that small adjustment mechanism is ugly even by Dr. Frankenstein standards. I am not a TAG hater or a watch snob but theese things really irk me...

I’m a positive dude but damn this is awful. Cyclops at 6 o’clock literally isn’t even trying. Finally, Tag puts together a solid clasp. However, the outgoing model looks much more put together and uniform than this. 36mm or 43mm? Yikes. I don’t see this model being the flagship for the Aquaracer long. Time to already go back to the drawing board, Tag.
