When I was an impressionable midshipman in the Royal Danish Navy our small arms instructor loved to make us feel useless by hitting the targets repeatedly at 200m. We were collectivly in awe with this CPO. Only a few years later - when we were all lieutenants did he tell just how much he had practiced and that he could only do it on days with no wind. Excellent pistol, small mag though.

I saw a new one for sale in the early 70's at my local gun store when I was in engineering college. It was priced at $400US. It was that or an HP35 scientific calculator. I got the HP35. I did buy another P210 a quarter century later but it cost more than 4 times as much by then. Fantastic Swiss craftsmanship.

I can tell you one terrible secret: it's not so extraordinary pistol like they say. You can find in youtube a video " sad storry about CZ- 52". That chech guy tells in english the storry of development of cz-52. One of the " intermidiate" pistol for chech army that time had accuracy much better than sig- p 210. It was also a browning tipe pistol,and swiss specialists from SIG, who were invited to see that experimemtal chehoslovac pistol were shoked of its accuracy on the paper target. But,finally,chech authoryties decided to adopt cz52 with roller locking system in cal. 7,62*25 TOKArev.
@Tony-om5kr2 жыл бұрын
@@alexandruborodin755 I bought a CZ-52 because of its unique locking system. It was a Czech surplus gun. It was not as precisely machined as the P210, but I still like it. It cost 10 times less than the SIG; great value.

Greetings from Thailand. I received this gun from my grandfather when he passed away in 1993. I don't shoot so I kept it away in the safe deposit. Today I ran into the license for this gun while I was sorting the storage so I tried searching for it in youtube. Dear god, I felt so dumb to find out how rare it is. Gonna go grab it tomorrow, thank my deceased grandfather and smack myself senseless for being such an idiot. Thank you for your review of the gun!

i am from switzerland, own a p210 and it's my absolute favourit. the old army grips (your grips) aren't that comfortable but more of a colectors piece. i got some new nill grips and they fit perfektly. (just an idea if you wanna check that out) my usual training distance is 25m and most of the shots are in a 4'' radius, with some exeptions naturaly. thank you for reviewing this legendary gun, spread the word. greetings from switzerland

This was a pistol that I read about in the early 80's and have wanted one eer since. A military contractor was in an African country(I don't remember which) as an instructor for their police/park rangers to help them with anti poaching operations and he was limited by law to only carrying a pistol and he choose this because it was the most accurate servise pistol made. They were attacked by poachers with AKs and he dropped an attacker at 100 yds with the 210 he said the pistol saved his life.

I think we should rename the "american" and "european" mag release. Heel mag releases were used in alot of early US autos, and European guns like the Luger more or less introduced the "US" mag release. Also, the IPSC world shoot was won once with one of these, back in the height of the singel stack 1911 era.

I bought a Sig (no Sauer), P210, with 3 slides, and 5 barrels. I got a .22LR slide and barrel, 9x19mm Para barrel, .30 cal luger, and 9x18 Makarov barrel, and a 7.62x25 Tokarev barrel. The German Masterwerks 210s are nice, but mine is a true Swiss oddity. Accuracy with every chambering is excellent, but the Tokarev seems rather special. Sphinx is another Swiss gun of excellence.

Gasp! Reviewing the 210 Legend before the original P210, I half expected some sort of Sig-fan revolt haha. Great vid as always.

I tried one once, and loved it. Beautiful gun. Didnt think it was possible to be that accurate with a gun very first time trying one. The old style sights are another big reason it's more accurate. 3 dot sights are made for fast target acquisition, not accuracy. As for the slide release, Europeans don't like using them to unlock. They consider it a lock, and to unlock it, they always rack it. The safety is an absolute must with a single action that anyone would think of carrying. Trigger is much to light. It's not a Glock.
@cthulhu66977 жыл бұрын
What ammunition brands, models, and grain weights do you find most accurate in this gun for both FMJ rounds (the main ammo type I'd use in these because I would get it for a range/plinking, novelty gun like you) and JHPs (in case it had to be pressed into service for defense)? Oh, btw, the Beretta you compared the Sig P210 with for size, was that a model 92 (the forerunner of the 92SB and 92f/FS, or a model 92FS you just put smooth wooden grips on? I saw those smooth, wooden grips and thought "wow, you don't see many 92s).

Hi - just for information's sake, you probably already know it by now: The P210-1 was also an Army service pistol, much like the P210-2. The P210-1 was just the first variation / first batch orderd by the Armed Forces, and the P210-2 was then the second batch / second variation. As you note, the P210-1 was polished (they called it "feingeschlichtet"), and it is more scarce than the P210-2. Of course some of these pistols were also sold to the private market, and yours seems to be one of these because it has a production number starting with "P" (like "Privat") and not "A" (like "Armee").

Awesome pistol, I just love it. (Still waiting for a metal Airsoft GBB version) It would be better, if the mag. release slide isn't a half square. I saw one where it had a modified one, and with the foot of the mag, the owner just pulled it and changed mags mutch more quickly. Kinda specnaz style. Anyway, a good bakelite or bone grip is a must-have piece, and a modified trigger is also a good way to improve your performance.

It’s called a safety not a security. I’d like to mention a couple more things: first of all, the gun was shown to be unloaded numerous times and second, you cannot be harmed by a negligent discharge through your computer screen.
