This is a company I haven’t heard of. I enjoyed the comparisons, the description of their character and how they come across to you. I believe you were surprised by them in ways and that you appreciate what they offer. The Totem Skys and Buchart S400 are the ones I am basing any comparisons to as these two seem to be the ones which seem to meet my needs. I am still open to others and I look forward to more reviews. Stay real Sean! I believe you will continue to gain a following of people who genuinely want help in their journey. Even if they don’t think they need it, your insights may just change their minds.

Thanks, Mark. Yep, there were a few things about the little Titus EZ's that I found to be pleasantly surprising. It's always tough being the little manufacturer in the face of all the bigger names. I can only hope that Triangle will better position themselves in the marketplace so more people can experience what they do.

I have these speakers in the walnut finish which is less expensive (£600 - I paid £480 )For the money even at $1000 they’re stunning - no bright or thin sound for me - just a highly dynamic and detailed sound with an enormous width. I run them in a second system driven by a 40 Watt ‘tube’ amp and they sound amazing - I’d highly recommend them.

Right off the bat I like the aesthetics. Nice looking construction quality, and physical size. Love the binding posts. Nice price tag! Great review as usual man, great USABLE information. Great to hear about the mid-range. I listen to a lot of bob jazz, trumpets, alto saxophones, guitars, and piano really need good mid-range.

I just looked up their website, their Comete EZ model comes with a 6.5" midrange, which makes it looks closer to Rp600m, both have a pointy phase plug in front of their titanium tweeters. Interesting to see two different companies come up with similar designs. Triangle seems to have a better build quality and finishing though.

Good grief, even with this 18 minute-long video, there are still some critical things that I forgot to mention: 1) The power sensitivity rating (90dB) on these speakers seems legit. They do not require a whole lotta power to get going. Meaning they should make for a solid match with tube amps - provided your thirst for volume remains tempered. 2) The Titus EZ's sound nice at low volumes. This is great news for people who like and/or need something that can sound detailed and balanced when not rocking the heck out. 3) I forgot to talk about the grills. They come with magnetic grills that use a soft fabric material. With the grills in place, I feel like the sound becomes more tame. The compromise is that the grills seem to soak up a bit of the 'energetic' signature of the Titus EZ. This is one of those 'Try it for yourself' scenarios, to see what you ultimately prefer. Personally, I feel like the Titus sounds more natural without the grills. 4) These speakers are far more beautiful in-person. My pictures sucked, and the video capture wasn't much better. 5) When I compared the Titus EZ to the Klipsch and Buchardts, I kept using the word 'refined'. PLEASE note that this is only applies to the Titus EZ's while they are in performing at their best. Put some bright recordings on them and/or pair them to forward sounding components, and they will quickly lose that refinement.

Zero Fidelity , don't worry to much, you still did a good job. these speakers would be really nice with my 15 inch SEALED Subwoofer. I like speakers that are not sold at the big box stores or Amazon. these look really nice. I have a pair of def tech 9s that sound incredible but I had to save up for them, expensive boggers. I almost got the 11s but didn't have the money. I need a high end sacd player, any suggestions??

Zero Fidelity , yea I know, everything is digital and on computers. I'm not a computer guy, don't like them. I was born in 1965 so I like analog equipment anyways. I have a Fluance RT -81 record player also that I like. hooked up to my Harmon/Kardon Amp/stereo with the Tape Monitor Loop, ( very hard to find ), hooked up to an ADC graphic Equilizer spectrum analyzer

The Comete EZ is the big brother of the Titus EZ and it's almost exactly the same size as the RP-600M. The Klipsch RP-600M is 15.7 x 8 x 11.9 and the Comete EZ is 15.7 x 7.87 x 12.7. With the Comete you can have your cake and eat it too. Meaning the size, dynamics, and bass of the Klipsch with the Triangle clarity. 😁

For anybody who is curious about synergy: Out of all of the components that I ran the Titus EZ's through, the best (relatively affordable match) was with the Marantz PM8006. The Marantz's clean signature in the mids further compliments the Titus EZ's natural clarity. The non-aggressive top end of the Marantz helps to balance out the Titus EZ's forward treble, and the powerful bass helps to supplement the Titus EZ's lack of low-end heft. The AMR AM-777 SE was another fantastic match, as was the Parasound HINT 6 and MastersounD Box, but really - who is going to pair up these $1k speakers with integrated amps that cost triple+ the price? Ultimately, I found that the Titus EZ really benefits from being paired to electronics that retail for around 1k each or more. Components beneath that price tend to be fairly unrefined sounding by comparison, and the Titus EZ's won't mask that.

I love to pair my parasound integrated with much less expensive speakers because I feel it brings out the Pinnacle of performance for a less expensive speaker just my take on it and vice versa a pretty expensive speaker with a very affordable amplifier will tell you for sure what's the quality of the individual component

In my experience the combination of Triangle Comete Ez with Nuprime IDA 8 does wonders. The sound is very pleasant . The vocals are amazing. It sound like high end. The treble is "golden" and the sound very colorful. But these speakers need a long break in period. Best regards from Poland.

Another really detailed and informative review on a set of speakers that I would normally not have giving a second look. Seeing that I live in France I should be able to pick up a pair for demo relatively easily. I've heard they partner well with Naim gear which I have at the moment, powered by a Meridian 557 power amp. I'd be interested to hear how they stack up with this setup. A fairer comparison imho would involve it's bigger brother the Comete ez. Anyway love your vids Sean. You're one of 4 hifi reviewers that I follow and I like the fact that each of you brings something different to the table.

I’m glad you used the Klipsch RP-600M’s as a reference. Definitely one of the speakers on my list. I’ll be saving up for a while to be able to afford them though. Got a quote just the other day from a South Australian retailer called Harvey Norman and they are $1600.00 a pair.

Zero Fidelity I know there’s a HiFi store on the other side of town who are selling them for $1500.00 which is a bit cheaper. I guess I could possibly get a better deal if I buy them as a speakers/amplifier combo and willing to spend a bit more on a complete set up. Keep in mind Sean that I’m talking Australian dollars, not US. I do have 3 other bookshelf speaker on my list, which would all have their own distinctive sound signatures, the KEF Q350’s, the Bronze Audio and the Elac B6.2, and I’m still very undecided at this point. I am leaning more towards the Klipsch’s though. 🙂

Zero Fidelity yeah that’s what I was thinking! 😋Though the Elac’s are much better priced, it wouldn’t have the sort of liveness sound that the Klipsch has, not that I have heard them yet. I have heard the KEF Q350’s, and they have amazing stereo imaging because of the uni driver design. I do like the Klipsch for the fact that they are a high sensitivity speaker at 96dB, so you don’t need an overly powerful amplifier to drive them properly, and I’d imagine you’d still have a bit of linear headroom power, even with an amplifier that’s only 50 watts RMS.

@@benkrake3678 I'd pass on the Klipsch. When looking for something easy to drive, don't just look at sensitivity. They are measured mid band in most cases. Also look at impedance and phase angle.

I prefer accuracy. If it's a bad recording, so be it. I want to hear that. The purpose of any speaker is to reproduce sound. It would appear that Titus got it right. However, bass frequencies are a part of that and I'm glad you gave it a passing grade there as well, with the understanding that it's a mini-monitor. If I may, I think the comparisons with the other speakers was a bit unfair given their size. Still, if I heard you right, not only did the EZ's hold their own but were actually superior in several areas. Interesting that when I first saw them I immediately thought they would be great for the computer. Another great review. And I do prefer the hat to retina burning shirts.

I’ve auditioned some of the Triangle EZ line and determined that I had to get to the Gaia before I was happy. I used my low power SET amp and while the bookshelf offerings were musical and yes FAST (Triangle truly does convey speed and dynamics,) the lack of bass just didn’t do it for me. I’m in no way a bass head, I just feel there’s a certain minimum of bass that provides the foundation of music that I don’t want to be lacking. I still haven’t bitten on the Gaias - I’m working on a set of double Advents to see if that does it for me - 12 inch woofers are hard to resist though I concede they are not as fast as the Triangles. I may get give in - after all they are French and that’s where my heart lies.

Looking at the BR03 vs Comete...are the specs right on Triangle's web site? BR03 rated down to 46Hz and the Comete only 49Hz...both the BR03 and Comete have 6 inch drivers. The Comete also has the largest cabint. The smaller Titus is rated down to 47Hz with only a 5 inch driver. Somethng doesn't make sense. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

just hooked up the Klipsch RP 4000F, their smallest floorstanding, BUT the bass is way way way better than the 160M and 600M. So I'm officially a fan of Klipsch. And I think due to its size (smaller tweeter) it really blended well with the overall music ranges. My hunch was right. It's now hooked up with the Spark (thanks Sean!). Thank you for doing the contrast, it really really assist people to make up their minds.

It's certainly a natural comparison. There's simply not enough time to do everything, so I decided to pin them against an opposite and a super popular horn speaker that (more) people are familiar with.

A pair of Triangle Titus EZ's in the real-wood finish ...... an inexpensive Musical Paradise 301mk3 tube integrated amp at only 6.5 - 7 watts per side ..... a $1000. turntable/cart rig .... a $400. Marantz cd player.... an older Velodyne subwoofer ....... all in a 12'x15' room .... for me equals totally heavenly sound, whether blasting Zeppelin, or listening to finely detailed acoustic jazz or vocal centered music. My wide variety of music interests can be screaming loud if desired with even higher volume levels to spare if needed. It's all about equipment matching and speaker placement with correct height and tow-in etc to achieve your desired amount of soundstaging and holographic sound. Regarding equipment matching for example ..... My NAD 326 integrated sounded terrible with the Triangles, (the NAD being a warm'ish SS), but the NAD sounded great with Klipsch RP600M's. My Musical Paradise tube integrated sounded horrible and screeching bright with Klipsch RP 600M's. But to get to a whole OTHER level of audiophile listening experience with a truly budget system, the combo I mentioned at the top got me there for this particular room. After the Titus EZ's break-in for about 300 hours, they'll offer realism of instruments & vocals with tone-galore. This is just what I have experienced.

I have a burson Funk and a Schiit Bifrost 2 DAC and am speaker shopping for my new desktop system. How do you think these would go in nearfield with the Funk, which is 45w class A/B and known to be somewhat warm in tonality? Thank you

@@stu3232 Hi ... My Triangle Titus speakers were beautiful sounding when I used them for nearfield during a short period that I used them in that type set up. Soundstage, imaging and bass were spot-on. At different times I powered them with my very warm tube amp, a NAD integrated and even an old Harmon Kardan .... they sounded wonderful with every set-up I did. I find them to be a very unique speaker and a great bargain, considering everything else that is out there these days .... gorgeous tonality, clarity & punch as well.

I like your reviews but I feel like your speaker reviews generally review units that are bright or forward. It would be great if you could review some for those of us that prefer a warmer sound (p3esr notwithstanding).

I feel you. I only review what I'm sent, and rarely seek out reviews from companies. What this means is that I can only report what I hear, and damn near everything is voiced to have a tilted up top-end. That's what sells because that's what most of the buying public wants. For people who want something that's a bit smoother on top, there's the Elac Debut series, most offerings from Q-Acoustics, Buchardt Audio's offerings - particularly their S300 MK II, the older Fritz Carbon 7, Graham Audio if you have the cash, and a few others that I'm sure I'm not thinking of.

Thanks for the amazing review, yet I have a question here: If the Triangle Titus EZ was less in price than the Klipsch RP 600m would you recommend them over the Klipsch? I'm comparing the Titus EZ against the BOREA BR03, klipsch RP600M, and I really like my speakers to be open and sound lively so I was totally set on the Klipsch, yet your honest reviews made me a bit confused. I also don't like "V" shaped sounding speakers, I like to listen to the mids and my highs as clear as I can, I don't care much for the bass cause in the end you can fix this problem with a subwoofer. Also can you tell me how all of the above speakers pair with the IYOTAVX SA3?

@@timschutte6924 Hello, so after lots of research I got in touch with Sean, he advices me to go for either the Titus or the Comete EZ if the space and budget allows. I followed his advice and bought the comete from France and I've been really enjoying them for the past 6 weeks. The Comete is bigger, with deep clear bass. I don't think that you will need a sub with them. highly recommended! Thank you Sean!

I bought a set on sale. I found them unbareable warm and dull sounding, highs seemed really rolled off, and not that seperated or dynamic. Running them on a Dayens Menuetto. Known to be fairly netural and dynamic. DAC is a Gustard R26. My Edifier powered speakers sound leauges better (minus some lacking some mids). These were my first attempt with buying hifi speakers. I have some higher end headphones, so I have a decent idea of what different tunings sound like. I also have them about 2" from the wall and spaced decently for the room size.

Hi Sean. Thank for the review. It's funny because i got the same Triangle in the basement atm since i upgraded to the Buchardt s300. So exact same speakers. I have to admit that from my perspective the s300 are superior in almost all cases. And I say even with a quite mellow sounding 25 year old Densen DM-10 amp. The horn in the Triangle sometimes shine but ablot of times it just in my opinion sounds a bit off /unnatural. The densen/Buchard combo could use some attack and speed, but all in all I just love how Big and 'analog' it sounds. Ohh, and by the way, the next Thing you should get you hands on should be the brand New Dynaudio Evoke 10 or 20. I kinda expect the Evoke 20 to be comparable to s300 or s400. Thanks again

You can come the top end down with horn loaded speakers like that quite easily if you find them over bright just get sheets or two of toilet paper scrumple together making ok in one hand and push it through with your finger and lightly put it in the horn don't push too far down! Just so it's held in place. this varies how much paper on the size of horn. You don't want to cram it in tight just loosely fit and very little amount. Better materials that forgotten the name of it may be somebody can remind me is a cloth type of kitchen towel very porous fibrous airy

I reviewed the SongTowers 10+ years ago for a now dead publication. Dennis Murphy knows how to design a speaker, and Salk sure knows how to make em' pretty. Good stuff. Haven't spent any time with their latest offerings.

Do you have any idea why most of a speaker manufacturers are making ports at the back of a "bookshelf" speakers? This defies any product logic and a purpose of a bookshelf concept as such kind of speakers do need quite some room to "breath" - hence no "bookshelf" concept may apply ?! Besides, having a properly set port at the front may compensate quite a bit of a low-level frequencies that are mostly missing on a smaller boxes of such.

A properly designed rear-ported speaker is equally as competent near a wall as its front-ported counterpart. This is due to how bass loads a room. Thanks to advancements in software, pulling this off is less of a dark art and more of a honed-in science.

This is why I'm looking more at the Comete EZ, they're a little bigger and front ported. I also love that their center channel is front ported as well. They also have the Heyda which is great for surround speakers, they're much smaller and sealed.

Depends on what you want. The Triangles are more airy, revealing and a tad quicker sounding. The Sky's are more holographic, sound better off-axis, have stronger bass, and are a tad easier to work with when it comes to equipment matching. The Sky is the better overall speaker, but it should be given how it's nearly double the price.

I think the term bookshelf speaker needs to be dropped. None of these are "bookshelf" speakers. You will never put these in a bookshelf if they have a rear-firing port. Give me a break, words SHOULD mean something...

I owned a pair of Triangle Zerius towers for several years and I loved them, driving them with a very strong Shengya A10MKII hybrid tube integrated amp and hybrid tube CD player. They were refined, engaging, lively and even as tower speakers they didn't have much bass. But as you said Sean they weren't designed for that. They were wonderfully articulate and fast, no excess warmth, all the way down to 50hz. As usual, listening to jazz trio you don't miss the bass. For heavier music/rock, nah, they don't do a great job. It's all about whatcha want. I'd say the bass of the new speakers is significantly stronger and more pronounced than the old gear. But yeah, the JBL 530's are also nice. Big. Bold. Dynamic. Versatile. Not the last word in refinement by any means - but fun to listen to.

@@ZeroFidelity several upgrades along the way for Triangle especially their tweeter designs, crazy story I was here in China, in Shanghai in 2005. I sourced a demo pair of their Zerius 202 s, all in house drivers, the mid driver had a waffle edge, I found them in at an audio shop in England for a good discount and called them from China. He thought I was crazy. I paid around $150 for the shipping from England to China, well worth it!!

No shame in sounding the same. I don't know why someone would bring this up. A good review will expose incompatibilities if they exist. Always good to have alot of gear on hand.

A thousand $$'s is really not that much for ppl who REALLY take their music listening experience seriously. I can afford speakers this pricey no problem but so far, I don't FEEL I need to go too crazy cuz there are just SOOOO many good options out there to not have to justify spending that much....I hope i'm not contradicting myself : D. (Then again, if I start seeing Y-tubers giving glowing reviews on those new Monitor Audio Gold bookshelves, i'll have to rethink my position!)

@Master Of Puppets - Let's see you do it. You'll need to R&D all the drivers. R&D the design. Order the parts from the factory (MOQ is high and payment is expected up-front). Build the speakers. Ship them. Insure them. Make sure there is enough margin for distributors. And dealers. And enough for yourself. Pay for the licenses for products containing wood into most countries. Make sure you have enough parts for support. Pay for a staff to help with support, logistics, engineering, etc. So go ahead, do all of this stuff that I just mentioned - with a product that can perform as well as the Titus EZ - and bring it to market for $300 with enough bandwidth left over to make a profit.

​@Master Of Puppets - Companies like Polk Audio, JBL, Klipsch, and even ELAC have a lot more investment capital than small manufacturers. This means they can order a higher volume of unique pars, which nets a significant per-part discount. They also have access to the best manufacturing and shipping rates. All of this dramatically lowers their per-sku cost. The compromise is their overhead, but even that isn't enough to thwart their ability to provide a sub $500 product that contains enough profit for themselves and their retailers. Having said that... The reason why few exotic companies can compete with the big boys at this level is because they simply don't have enough capital TO compete. However, once we move up to/around the $1,000 range, all bets are off. At least when it comes to loudspeakers. The playing field becomes more even, and the smaller companies nimbleness and lack of overhead allows them to make up for their inability to source materials at the best prices. Hence why the big boys don't really have an edge over the little guys at and beyond $1,000. Anyhoo - the bottom line is that I've been in this game for awhile. I've seen the spreadsheets. I've consulted for many companies. I've grown and continue to help grow numerous companies. I know the business and know it well. Much like my reviews, there is no bullshit here. I'm telling you how it is. Whether or not you want to accept the words of somebody who knows their shit is your call.
