Looks beautifully done. And they were not afraid to use monochromatic scenes for that authentic noir feel. Unlike the folks that made The Dame Was Loaded here in Melbourne back in the 90s, who were forced by Philips to make everything full colour to show off their snazzy 'new' fullscreen video system. Ironic, almost a period attitude for their period game title. ;)

It's a gorgeous game and I do thoroughly recommend it. There's a really interesting discussion to be had on how the noir period is represented in film and games in a modern setting. Often the style in which it's made is a reflection of the current era, like the 90s. I think LA Confidential gets this balance perfectly right, because the focus is on the modern aspects of the era, without being garish. I did play LA Noire in black and white and really enjoyed it.
