I remember being like 6 to 8 in blockbuster going for a lego game, I saw this game with a weird looking divers suit on the front and was like next time I want this. Next time we went they didn't have it, but they had the sequel. One of the first games I ever finished on my own, I'll always like the sequel just a tad bit more than the original

The sequel was a step up in terms of gameplay. It wasn't enough to top the first's immersion and narrative for me, though. It's awesome that a BioShock game was one of your firsts. Such high quality

With the whole "Lamb" thing not appearing in the first game, it's sadly as simple as, she didn't exist and they needed a new antagonist. Overall I personally think B-2 is my favourite of the Bioshock games, yes it's story isn't as compelling as the original and it's characters not as over the top. But I think that's the point. In the original you encounter the "Best" of Rapture, the artists, the high culture, the 1%, those with maddening ideas and thoughts, the eccentrics. While in 2 you deal with the forgotten, the workers, the "average joe", those who get the leftovers from dinner. They're not grand or over the top and that's kind of the point and that's really the point. The only exceptions could be "Alex the Great" and Sophia Lamb. The game is definitely an upgrade gameplay wise, and while I do enjoy going back to the original and having those initial "survival horror" feels before you become a Flesh-Bound God, I do love the flow and progression of 2 more. While that new game "Judas" feels like the next spiritual Bioshock entry. I would LOVE to see a truly remade Bioshock 1, with newer graphics on a new engine, new audio logs with characters from 2. Though Sinclair and Gilbert are mentioned once or twice in the original game. But to actually have audio logs from them. To create a definitive timeline that branches 1 and 2. And a better boss fight at the end. And maybe pair the remake with a Bioshock 2 remake as well. Explore new things. Anyway I could talk for ages about it. Great work on the review and sorry for rambling.

By all means, ramble on man. I love reading comments like these and learning how others see the games that I enjoyed (or didn't).
