I prefer the 13B4, which is one size larger. It's a slightly shallower Bach 5C with a better rim.

Perhaps anybody of the good people here has an opinion about this: I play normally a Bach 1,5C but I sound much brighter and more open high on a Wick 3C. But my lips feel slightly constrained in it. So I am torn in a endless loop now between the choice for a lyric dark sound or a more brilliant perhaps more popular sound. And because I don't have as much freedom on the 3C I could end up never feeling comfortable on it. Of course I could play both too and switch often. I play most classical and so you could say to stick with the Bach (which I do ) but if I change I might discover new possibilities with the 3C. Some say though that a mpc is like a shoe, it must fit perfectly almost immediately. Anyone else who knows people stuck in this loop???

The 5MM Modular Mouthpiece will solve this problem immediately by giving you any variation of both mouthpieces. www.whyharrelson.com/build-my-mouthpiece.html

How about comparing Schilke to the Yamaha ones with the same numbering

Honestly this mouthpiece is the most limiting I’ve ever played, but it’s perfect to learn on, once you learn to play on this you’ll feel so freed when playing a new mouthpiece and it’s the best feeling ever

What's a good next Yamaha mouthpiece? I say Yamaha to get an idea of the differences.
@ciatacious61103 жыл бұрын
@@randomamerican3287 branch off and find out what you like, bigger brands like Yamaha if you think about it will be more mass produced so find alternatives, and if you really like Yamaha definitely get an Eric Miyashiro mouthpiece

Yamaha has the best value in mouthpieces

I have a range up to double g but playing high C (the 1st one above the staff) is really hard in a scale setting. I can play the scale fine on my schilke 6a4a mouthpiece and most other shallow mouthpieces, but my low register suffers. I have an all-region audition where I must play Two octave G and two octave C. The only mouthpiece that I've played so far that I can play in the high and low registers good is the WB GR Studio M. I want to buy one but I only have maybe 50 dollars. I have plenty of deep bach mouthpieces but they seem to limit how fast I can play in the upper register. I can still hit a really solid high C at a quiet dynamic but I really have to push to hit it in a scale. Any suggestions?

This mouthpiece gives me a deeper tone than the Bach 3c for some reason, at least in the middle register. How can that be?
@harrelsontrumpets6 жыл бұрын
It is possible that your 3C is too large and you struggle to produce a full tone due to the mismatched size.

@@harrelsontrumpets Absolutely. I've done my mouthpiece journey more than once, just to get back to the 11B4 that came with my first trumpet 20 years ago. So many problems are just gone when I play on this piece. Don't listen to anyone saying that this is for beginners only!

I love the 11B4. It's a balanced choice. I keep meaning to get a GP series one to see how it compares to my old faithful.

I’m in 7th grade and I can play a high c and sometimes a double g, but I think I still want a slightly narrower one. Any suggestions?
@millsfamily61603 жыл бұрын
A narrow mouthpiece will give you a really nice, warm tone. However, it’s harder to play high notes depending on how narrow it is. If you want to play higher, I’d close your lips a little more, tighten the corners of your mouth, and blow quicker air. Colder, and more focused air will help you produce higher notes. Don’t worry if it doesn’t come immediately though... it takes baby steps 😁 I hope this helped

For me 11c4 is a Bach 7e, and 11c4 is a Bach 7c ,bright & dark , perfect for practice and to stay young and sharp. I play Bach 1-14c MV, melodic everyday no problem, but some time it's a sleeping pill because melodic at piano too. I forgot that I play the all set of Bach 7s. too Ha ha ha since the beginning. They're very misconceptioneds.
