I can't say I've even considered using my Custom without the chipbreaker! I'm pretty amazed by how well yours works like that!

The instructions said to use it without, so, I gave it a try. I was surprised that it not only worked just fine, but it left the surface very smooth. All down to the fineness of the edge. Man, what a nice plane.
