I've been in a Passau Pro Pack for about 4 years now. I'm a gear goblin so that's saying a lot 🤣. I usually get 1-2 custom/new sets a year for reference. I've tried all but the Hyperlite Bauer chesties and I end up right back at my old Passau. I play against ex/current pros 1-2 times a week and the thing is still a tank but I want to try something new and this vid makes me want to try the Warrior chest. Last two years my main set of gear has been Warrior and now in G6 set, so like you said you're already in a lot of Warrior stuff so why not try it. Thanks for the vid, I haven't seen many people out there reviewing this chest and arm.

I’m in one of the models a step or two down from this and it’s great for all but the hardest beer league shots. Also, just got some G6 equipment and holy shit you weren’t kidding about the slide plates. My slides in the third were basically like when I’d slide at the start of a game with my older G4 set.

i have the same chest and can confirm. Its great. I wear it untuck and like you said. You can feel it where it hit, but it does not hurt at all

Thanks for the review. I couldn't find the Pro+ but snagged a deal on the Pro.

@@crewzta I was doing some NHL practice skates for a couple months this summer using it. The CA does great, only thing I noticed is feeling it a bit more on shoulder shots.

@@GoalieUnion Good to know. Been wearing a padded Bauer shirt, I might keep it for the higher level play.

@@crewzta probably not needed but whatever you're comfortable with, I just wear an "elite" Bauer neck guard and a regular athletic T.

I agree I play against some good shooters. The Sr model and s holding up with little to no stingers. I tried this pro+ and it’s almost overkill. But it’s very mobile

Give the basic Pro one a look too, you'll have an easier time fitting in your jerseys.

@@GoalieUnion lol I use a triple xl player jerseys. Arms fit a hellavalot better plus are long enough.

I saw on the forum you picked up the x4 pro. Better or worse? How’s the weight on that? I’m in the market for a new chesty
@GoalieUnion Жыл бұрын
I like that I can see over my shoulder easier and my arms fit in jerseys much easier. The new X4 Pro is also all black so it'll look less nasty over time. Protection is great, the pro and college skates will start soon for me but I trust it'll match the Pro+.

Is the XL version of this NHL legal? (may be a silly question, but I'm a new goalie and my league follows NHL rules for goalie equipment)
@GoalieUnion6 ай бұрын
NHL rules for chest equipment wouldnt let you use any retail CA's. They require the shoulder floaters to be stationary. The shoulders on this one arent close to legal, the regular Pro would be closer since they segment at the top. What league is enforcing NHL rules for the goalies? I'm guessing its more the 11" pads than anything else. No retail pant is NHL legal either.

@@GoalieUnion "the permitted sizes are the same as in the NHL (so if your chest protector is OK for ice hockey in minor hockey in Quebec, it will be accepted in the ProCosom League" this is the quote from the league when I asked about it. I should note it's a ball hockey league. Unfortunately I didn't realize how big chest protectors can get and I bought the RX3 E+ Senior XL (on clearance,no returns, so Im stuck with it. it's my first time ever buying an ice goalie chest), previously I was using a cheap Canadian tire street chest and I was getting a lot of bruises. I wonder are there any adjustments, with straps or other ways I could trim it down a bit or make it fit better so the shoulders dont push out too much?
@kurt1s536 ай бұрын
I believe they mean closer to NHL rules for sizing not necessarily if the shoulder floaters are stationary

How does it compare to the Passau? I'm a Pro Pack guy and it's time for a new one but I am considering Warrior as well.
@GoalieUnion Жыл бұрын
They're both fantastic, I love both. I think the Warrior mechanical arm gives it an edge. I might recommend the non-pro+ to fit into more jerseys easier depending on your size.

Why does pop's pro chesty need a padded undershirt?
@GoalieUnion2 жыл бұрын
I was getting some decent bruises in it, there’s a good pic of Dobby out there where he’s got thick padding under it too.
@wallzy-goaltending2 жыл бұрын
@@GoalieUnion is it a thinner C/A then? As in thinner padding wise? I've used my Passau pro pack for the past 8 years? Still holds up against german pro players well to good so I'm kind of surprised the kenesky one left you bruised

@@wallzy-goaltending Yeah I was pretty surprised too, my Passau Pro Pack was bullet proof also. I actually keep it as an emergency backup in case my gear gets stolen or something.

@@wallzy-goaltendingsome prefer that. Hasek and Brodeur didn't want super protection. Their Browns were a little watered down. Theybwantd to feel the puck a bit so they knew where the puck was.
