Instaclicked, built one of these and I love it! Of course I used my own engine, wing, and cannon mods. Changed out the light tan for light yellow on the fuselage to go along with the 2x6 sticker piece. One other thing as we discussed in DMs is adding an extra 1x4 plate to the build and slightly rearranging the plates under the panels lining the forward fuselage. My reasoning here is that the main stripe can now be made unbroken for another fighter or squadron arrangement

Thanks very much for this, great that someone reviews MOC's. Your video REALLY helped me to make the purchasing decision on Quarrie's X-wing (not so hard though for only 6 bucks). I made some changes to make the fuselage a bit stronger, added some mechanical greebling on top, used tiles to make the wing details and made different cannons, but the base and how Quarrie was able to employ Jerac's techniques in a much better sized model (imo) and with available starting point to everyone in 75301 is just awesome. This is THE definitive X-wing now for my collection and I'm very happy with it, looks neat and is mostly pretty sturdy. Might even build another colour scheme in the future. AND you have a new subscriber!

While I do really appreciate the review and do plan on buying this MOD, I do think it's interesting that we've all forgotten that there already is a minifig-scale X-wing model, the Mike Psiaki. It's brilliant, really re-colorable, and instructions are free online.

Nm found it. I think that X-Wing is great for a 2012-2014 era build. In 2024, however, it’s pretty clearly been surpassed.

Love your channel! What's your opinion on this one vs Jerac's? If you had to pick one and money wasn't an issue, which one would you choose?

If you remove price from the equation the other two areas I think are most important are screen accuracy/appearance and stability. Jerac's wins on accuracy, Quarries' wins on stability.

Do you think it’s possible to modify the engines to make them bigger like in the 2018 set or the BrickVault MOC?

It would be pretty difficult. The engines are sized to fit a 3-stud wide area, the cylinders are 4 studs wide. It would throw off a lot of the other proportions and in my opinion would not look as good.

Have you built the ARC 170 by the same guy? i actually have arc 170 and this version of x wing set. and i do want to built of this guy's stuff.

No, this is the first model I've built from Quarrie's Workshop. Probably not the last!

Does he include a parts list for if you already have 75301?

No, the only parts list is the one available without purchasing the model on the rebrickable page. You can generate a parts list for everything you'd need right in rebrickable though. It's kind of complicated. Personally I would simply disassemble 75301, put all the parts on the Wanted List in a little bin or bag, then buy the rest normally.
