REVIEW: Xiaomi Smart (Google Home) Speakers--How to Set up into Stereo;Cast Audio from Other Devices

In this video, i only not review the performance of the Xiaomi Smart Speaker but also pair two units to form a stereo set. This is a full Google Home speaker at a very affordable price-- P2,990 only.

I bought those 2 speakers to use them in stereo. After a couple of days I noticed that when playing in stereo, left and right, I nearly had no bass. It seems that they are out of phase. So like they are wired incorrectly. Try it with a song with some bass. Sit in the the middle of the left and right speaker and shift left and right. If you all of a sudden get more bass when going left or right then you have the same issue. I wanted to check the wiring or change it, but before opening them up I checked the Google home app. There is a setting for delay between the speakers.(which will solve the 180 degree phase shift). I set that to 7 or 8ms and then it sounds normal again. Still need to try to open them up to really measure, but give that a go. It is not a 100% fix on mine since they should have no delay between the two but it is a great improvement.

Is it possible to connect the speakers to the TV that is not a smart TV but has a mi stick. So basically I would like to stream Netflix through mi stick and have stereo sound connected with mi stick.

I think it can be done considering Mi speakers are just connected via bluetooth. However, i have not tried it using Mi stick. If Mi stick has a Bluetooth, then it is possible to connect the Mi speakers. Please subscribe. Thanks

I liked your video. I find it interesting as there is very little information about these devices. Due to its minimalist design it is ideal to decorate your living room. But I have not managed to configure it to watch Netflixt movies or TV with stereo sound. Do you have information on how to achieve it?

If you want to make the Mi speakers as your external speaker for your TV, pair the devices--TV and the speakers. Go to settings of your TV and pair both using Bluetooth. Tell me if it works. Please subscribe. Thanks

The speaker that responds to your command will be determined by the AI. I think if you're always talking to a speaker, the AI will designate that as the command speaker. In my case, the first speaker that i set up was the one designated by Google Assistant.

My stereo setup is on WiFi. After setting up the first speaker on Google Home, just add the second speaker. Then, you'll be asked to pair the two speakers as stereo. Follow all other prompts. If you mean other thing like connecting the two speakers via bluetooth not on WiFi, i haven't tried it. I don't know if bluetooth alone can pair the two as stereo.

May be Mice is not working in my speaker, how can i test? How can i update firmware version ? Or It will update by itself?

Try pressing the button, it will voice prompt whether it is on or off and ring light is steady color orange if the mic is off. I don't know if there's a way to update the firmware by ourselves.

I have not tried it yet. However, i can stream audio from my phone to the Smart speakers. Maybe, it is possible since Smart TV are using chromecast. You did not explain how to pair two of these speakers in a stereo pair.

Hi. Is it possible to connect Tuya/Smartlife/Zigbee devices to this smart speaker? I have a lot of Tuya/Smartlife/Zigbee ready to connect to Google Home but not sure i can manage tis devices by Mi Smart Speaker

Hi. I have not tried those devices but i can give you an idea. I also added to Google home my smart plugs from eWelink and the Mi Speaker works on the smart plugs. I also added Xiaomi 360 Camera but i could not stream within the app. However, Google Home says the camera can be streamed to any device with Chromecast thru the Google Home. I'm still about to test this. My Xiaomi door/window sensors didn't work with this speaker. Hope this helps
