Fun tactic with the vigilante, since it can shoot with the barrels opened, you can fire a shot, prime the blaster, break it open to reload one dart, and when people break cover to charge you since you're reloading, you can just shoot them with your remaining shot. It also feels pretty badass to whip it open and closed when reloading. Not really war practical, but pretty fun.

If you want a single shot break action, and if you’re willing to mod, a singled sledgefire is the way to go. Mine shoots over 110 FPS and is stupidly accurate with worker half darts. It’s a true nerf sniper. I followed the MTB guide for it (except for the spring upgrade, will do soon) but since I’m in the states I had to improvise on the single shell. For those curios I used 5 inches of 17/32 brass fit with etape and super glue into a sledgefire shell length of 1/2 inch pvc. I then cut two 1/2 inch long sections of 3/4 inch pvc, and dremeled them out a bit until they could fit over the half inch, one at the front and one at the back. I then dremeled some grooves in it so that it could fit in the breech (there are some small ridges)

Also interesting on the Reflex is that the loop is sideways, which makes it easier to dual-wield and have something to catch and hook the primer to shoot instead of needing your other hand. Also, it is easier due to only one motion. Unlike some slide pistols that require you to prime the slide back and then push it forward to complete the prime (Kronos, for example), this one is locked and ready with just the prime pull back.

X shot has the best chance of outselling nerf, compared to any other competitors. They have (reasonably) inspired designs, that you can tell weren't just ripped from an existing gun by a third party, and walks the line between realism and sci fi better than nerf does. Plus they sold a minigun for 25 bucks and nerf doesn't do that shit so woo x shot

The Reflex 6 actually does sorta slamfire. As long as you have the trigger held down, you can draw it all the way back and it'll snap in and launch the dart. Feels kinda like a slingshot.

The Reflex 6 with a 5.5K Alphahawk spring and brassed barrels can shoot around 130 - 150 with good accuracy. You might want to 3D print a more rigid priming handle though because the standard one is quite flimsy. One of my favorite pistols of all time. Favorite of course is the Hammershot though.

Played in a nerf war with little kids the other day and got to use the Hawkeye. I agree it is very slow, which made it not very practical for winning. Some interesting things to note: There is a better version of the Vigilante available now, at least better in my opinion, I've got both. I'm pretty sure that's the second version of the Reflex 6, I have the earlier one that has a different priming handle. The MK3 seems a lot like the Tek 3, only better.

Great review, all these blasters have an ascetically pleasing design and I love the colors, I to really like the teal as i also have many D&D dice in a translucent teal style. while all the blasters look great and shoot hard they might only be good for non flywheel non magazine games but yeah not good for real competitive nerf games. though the reflex 6 could make a decent secondary. ^_^

If you think the Reflex 6 is too big and the Mk.3's manually rotated barrel is annoying, and both of those things are true 😃. Get the Fury 4. Smaller than the Reflex 6 but fires just as hard and has an auto-rotating turret with four shots. Fantastic

The Reflex 6 if you have a nerf stock spring that'll fit inside the reflex's spring you have just created an even more hard hitting blaster that'll shoot harder than a Strongarm with a 7kg spring. Edit: Basically you double spring the blaster. I did that with the stock strongarm blaster You can also though put that 7kg spring in there as well.

the fury 4 is a very good blaster. mine shot pretty hard when I took it out of the box. the only bad thing about it is that the grip is too small for my hand
