I just got my first Long Knife (Architect) nib on a Hongdian N6 3 days ago and i cant believe what i was missing all this time. I just found my nib, the PERFECT nib. Do you get that feeling where u going to bed and all you can think about is you writting with the perfect pen??? THATS WHAT I GOT WITH THIS NIB. I am in love. My next chapter is to try a Cursive Italic. Any good suggetions of pens with a Cursive Italic?

Jet Pens sells a Pilot Metropolitan with a cursive italic nib. I think it's listed as a CM nib. And it's only around $25. I have one and love writing with it.

It a good one! I'll second Teresa's suggestion to try the Pilot. I did a little micro-mesh work to get mine just to my liking, but it's a good nib.

I love writing with the Hongdian pens. And the Long Knife nibs I do have a hard time finding replacement nibs.

I have a couple of the N6s so this pen should work well with those. I hope they make a dark green version at some stage.

I have the same pen in EF and Im very happy with it. It looks really good and writes well. Nice review as usual.

Another excellent review! I wish Hongdian had made this one in more color options, like blue! It would have been interesting to see it alongside your Penbbs in Galaxy.

I fell in love with Long blades last year. It is my favorite. For those interested, Osprey pens sells architect nibs for good prices that you can swap on other pens. ( I have no relationship with them other than I am a happy customer!)

Good review of a good pen. If I might suggest an addendum: it would be interesting to see your handwriting (with the same ink and same text) using the long blade nib side-by-side with a standard nib.

I got my first long blade Friday and I honestly don't know if I like it or not. I normally go for a stub and this is the exact opposite so will take some time to get used to 😊

The first one I got I didn't like. It was dry as a bone and frustrating. Then I found out that the maker had a preference for really dry nibs and it made sense. This one was much better.

Hello James. Great review, I just received that pen last week . Same color, very beautiful color. I like the classic design , too. I'm guessing this is a #6 nib, so I must search out as architect nib, as I ordered the fine nib. This is the first Hongdian in my collection. Thanks. KB

I might have to get one of those. My favorite EDC pocket pen has a narrow stub and I like how it adds character without making it difficult to write small. An architect might add that panache without sacrificing readable small characters. Nice quote at the end about conflict. If only the world's despots would confront in the mirror what they proclaim with their actions. Your videos brighten the day on many levels. Thanks, James - be well!

This is a great presentation, James. I have been looking and considering getting a long blade nib. I have used bent nibs which provide line variation. I have also found such variation with soft nibs, though not all of them do so. My quest in part has been to find a pen that is comfortable in my hand and has a nib that will enhance my writing. This may be one such pen. I am not a fan of converters as most do not hold enough ink for me, save for the Hong Dian 9019 and soon the 9016. Is the barrel one piece, meaning there's no end cap on the barrel? If not, I may be tempted to eyedropper fill the barrel. The resin is gorgeous, too. Thanks again for the great review, James.
