Cities Skylines Industries:
In one of the most in-depth expansions in Cities: Skylines history, Industry becomes a larger and more meaningful part of the game with this expansion. Players can customize their industrial areas with supply chains for the four different resource types and unique factories. Well managed industry areas will level up and become more efficient. Aside from production chains, there is a new city service for handling mail and the cargo airport eases import and export of factory goods. There are FIVE new maps, new policies, new city services, new buildings (including resource extractors, manufacturers, warehouses and unique factories) and more.
Key Features:
- MAKE IT HAPPEN
Follow your products from harvesting to processing, storage and production, then transport them to commercial zones or export to other cities.
- CAPTAIN YOUR OWN INDUSTRIES
Define an area with the industry area tool and place highly specialized industrial buildings to build and manage the production chain from raw material extraction up to final end product. Industry Areas are divided into four types based on the natural resource they are processing: Farming, Forest, Ore and Oil. These areas can level up upon reaching productions goals and staffing requirements.
- BUILD IT UP, BUTTERCUP
New industrial buildings include Extractors, Warehouse Facilities, Processing and Auxiliary Buildings, Industrial Props and Roads. Unique Factories, such as Food, Toy, Furniture, Car and Electronics produce luxury products, and require a large number of workers, water and electricity as well as input from your industries.
- GO POSTAL
Boost your citizens’ well-being with mail delivery and collection services. Post sorting facilities handle mail between outside connections and the post offices, and new Post Van and Truck vehicles enable the carriage.
- WONK HARD
Three new Industry Policies and four City-wide Policies, including Workers’ Union, Sorting, Tolls, Wi-Fi, Logistics, Work Safety and Automation.

What happens when a car gets stuck due to a bug or glitch? With despawning disabled it never goes away? But that would hold up everyone else behind it, right? I have run my city with despawning both enabled and disabled, but it makes no difference, I still get 81-85% traffic. I just fear that at one point someone will get stuck and it will make a traffic mess

Hey Dan, I had that problem in one of my cities (trains become so clogged they all locked into a standstill) I found some answers that included building interchanges between external lines and internal lines so your cities don’t get flooded with outside trains and you keep them both separated.

Although it's quite nice, I prefer to use "building hierarchy" (much like road hierarchy). This city seems to be mostly high-density, and then suddenly just stops. I'd like to see surrounding low-density suburbs, giving a more sloped or pyramidal skyline.

I Prefer random Skyscrapers around the city, (Especially around the Center.) So I can make it how I like it. I work on Brazilian Cities in Cities Skylines and if you have ever been in somewhere like Sao Paulo or Recife, you KNOW how normal it can be for a random skyscraper in the middle of a bunch of houses. This is the same in Vancouver and San Francisco.

I build my cities Canadian/Vancouver style. Minimal highways in the center, and I have a dense urban core that spreads out into medium density and then into low density suburbs. Ill have small dots of high density areas throughout the suburbs too, which is pretty realistic, Kinda like midtown toronto, Or metrotown outside Vancouver

Speaking of ships clipping through the bridges, here are some helpful numbers for bridge heights if you're going for visual realism: • 58 m -- clearance height of the Bridge of the Americas in Panama, which sets the maximum design height for new and old Panamax ships. This is a good minimum height for visual realism if you have cruise/cargo ships passing underneath. • 33 m -- minimum clearance over water for in-game cruise/cargo ships to pass underneath without visually clipping. Cargo ships are slightly shorter but this number will cover you for both. • 20 m -- This is generally the lowest you'll see real bridges over _minor_ navigable waterways. Any lower and you'll usually see a draw/swing/opening style bridge. (By "minor" I'm talking about fishing boats, river tugs/barges, recreational boats, etc.) Writing this out I realize I haven't measured ferry clearance minimums in-game. If anyone knows the lowest a bridge can be for a ferry without visual clipping, I'd be grateful if you could tell me. :)

Ideas! 1.Highway speed testing? Banning trucks from the outside lanes like irl. Lane switching management. Does a 50mph limit speed up highways? Does a 30,40,50 limit speed up busy roundabout. 2. Build a sorted roundabout asset for busy and not busy Give way signs Enter junctions(busy no,not busy yes) One lane offs 3. Roundabout and road multi levels? Build up where there's limited space? An elevated roundabout and road system - more visually fun than cross city tunnels? !Autosave Sipatea!

My man, let me give you some feedback. You have been very positive about the cities in the past two videos which is fine, but I think you know this city is not very realistic and transportation could be better. It feels like you want to not step on any toes in the video and just call everything overall positive. In my experience, people would be more willing to send you cities and would enjoy the video more if you'd be a little bit more honest and direct. It would be more entertaining and people would feel a greater connection. Also, nobody cares about a review if it's always going to be positive. Nobody studies for a test which always gives you an A. People like it if they receive honest feedback. This would increase the quality of city you'd be sent. This just my take.

Neat! 6. Novelty and Originality. -I loved the over water motorway cloverleaf and think it deserved mention for N and O. Unreal yes, but cool?... -the wiggly bridge - why not? lol. -Massive blue skyscraper 70+ stories? Loved it. 7. Money breakdown. Income and expenses analysis. 8. Pedestrian and bicycle friendliness - ppl will walk miles and this cuts traffic(as you've shown on other vids) , it might be in the happiness algorithm. 5 Happiness - can the Devs give you some algorithm notes : how it's calculated - does bad traffic affect it etc Great channel. !Autosave Sipatea!

Hi Biffa. I am great fan of Cities and your channel. I have learned a lot from your videos about the traffic management and applied some of it my city. I spent 350h in the game building and rebuilding just one city. In general I think I have done quite a good job (maybe it is not very pretty but I love it). I have one problem however. Everything seems fine but after some time my industry starts to complain there are not enough buyers for products. Shortly after commercial starts to complain there are not enough products to sell. Budilings get abandoned and city stagnates. What helpes is clearing all traffic in Traffic Manager when first complaints occur. After that everything is fine for some time. It's almost like "Lost" series, where they had to push the button or... At first I thought its a traffic flow issue, but I can't pinpoint it. Average flow seems to be above 80% all the time. Do you think you could take a look and see if you come up with any solution? Link to my city: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2358516931

I think a video that reviews maybe 5 cities in 30 minutes would be a lot more entertaining than the current setup. In addition, when you spend so long on the same city it turns into a criticism when I believe a showcase would be a lot more fun to watch. Focusing on what makes the city unique and amazing makes for better content instead of reviewing. Of course if you want to keep with the whole grading scheme the video follows you could add a poll to ask us, the viewers, which one we liked the most.

I experienced the London M25 fiasco - not enough lanes and too far out. The devastation / demolition required to put in an effective city ring road could be played with? Like the roundabout builder - bang! ouch! The idea is it's so big that through traffic has to use it also.

No buses is not neccesarily bad if there are lots of metros. For instance, real life Tokyo has done away with most of its buses and tram lines, in favour of a vast network of metros and (underground) regular trains. And the Tokyo public transport is legendary for how well it works. Now of course, Tokyo might be a tad bigger than most cities, but still, "no buses" is not neccearily bad.

Hello, Biffa. Those cruise ships were too tall for the bridges. They kept hitting them at the top. 😆 Can you Imagine the REAL damage in the real world? 😳😖😆 Those interchanges over the rivers were DEFINITELY not real. I thought the creator would at least have a bus line or two. 🤔 That avenue over the land interchange was wobbly. It should at least have been straight. They seemed to have good traffic flow, it appears. The walkways between the metro connections above ground were very good. Good video... 👍

On one hand C:S makes me to believe that a decent sized public transport system isnt able to make money. Looking around at public transport services in my country, nearly non of them actually make money. Fun thing is: Big public transport in big cities that also have low prices for tickets are the ones that make profit. Increasing prices every 6 months will do the opposite, still most comapnies are doing it and wondering afterwards why noone wants to use their "nice" public transport (as a tip it may have to do that driving around a car for a month (including insurance and petrol) is just as expensive as a monthly ticket for PT. With the difference, that im faster, can move around on the spot (right now, not in "20 minutes when the bus arrives") and i dont have to cram myself into an overfilled train just to get home, because the company prefers to make the schedule "more lightweight" (aka less service for the same money.... until 6 months are over, then its less service for more money) to "reduce emmissions and noise complains made by PT" hmmmm

roundabouts and curvatures in cities are some of the worst ideas known to man, and we haven't even realized it yet, in a grid pattern everything is easier to access, but in a curvy place, it's hell, you'd die before being able to access the hospital.

Watching your series inspired me to play the game again... but unfortunately we only have it for console, and I remembered why I stopped playing it before: it's disappointing on console! Building things is slow, finicky, and frustrating, and the quality of life mods are missing, of course. If we play it again, we're definitely getting it on PC. I still want to.

Mhh, land value is somewhat broken, as highways should decrease it in there direct neigborhood, but good highway-acces should increase it, just as an example. Also it should be driven by the demand for workers in contrast to the available housing. The more jobs you add to your city without adding housing, the higher the land value should go, affecting even areas nothing is build on yet, while it should decrease to the city core - or suburbs, depending on the infrastructure, crime rates etc. pp. -, if demand drops. Oh, I would love to design the simulation for a city builder. There are so many factors that can be simulated so much better.

A lot of weird long bridges... :/ Make it (UPhill section - 2 or 3 Suspension section - DOWNhill section) or (delete suspension tower if no ship way) would make your bridge much more realistic and also ships could pass through the bridges correctly.

this is the city I live in IRL. it doesn't really look like how they set it up but still pretty cool. the streests in my city ARE pretty gridded out so that makes sense but we don't have all those roundabouts in Minneapolis. Plus...on a darker note, the riots, fires, protests and destruction have changed how the south side looks anyhow so....yeah. I guess that would be a cool "natural disaster" Cities could implement is "riots" or something. I haven't played in a while ( just downloaded it again after hiatus two days ago) so maybe they do have that as a natural disaster

80%+ traffic flow is great in a city this size, but a city with only metro (and some blimps) is weird to me. Even if you are going for a more futuristic, green city, my taste is more diverse mass transit. I would also like to see more fringe settlements outside the city limits to add more realism.

Biffa : I highly recommend the Zoning toolset mod steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=592076973 This mod will allow you to use standard small roads to make tightly packed inner-city roundabouts with integrated side walks, and removing the zoning interference for nice and pretty mini-roundabouts surrounded with proper buildings on the surrounding streets. (and no on the roundabout itself) More Roundbaouts love everybody !

The metro is very wide spread and theres lots of lines, but IMO its very poorly setup with the different spurs and connection stations. Obviously some of the longer distance lines should be heavy rail, but even then, the way the metro stations are placed could be much better and with a bit more forethought to line continuity.
@ianmoseley9910
@ianmoseley9910 5 жыл бұрын
Adam Treaster The game also does not allow for more realistic metros where stations have platforms for two or more lines and people do not have to exit to change lines and does not allow for lines to be at different depths and thus cross each other.
