Weird side note but did anyone else think it was weird how DMaS was totally absent from the Halloween update? No Tunnely Shimbers in the new music (from what I heard), none of the level’s gimmicks were re-used in Tricky Treat, and the Toppin Monsters weren’t even so much as referenced in the hub world decorations. Just feels like a strange omission to me considering how well-known that level and its characters are.

pro tip for tricky treat: follow the blue arrows first, then the green arrows. the green arrows only get you through the stage, the blue arrows will lead you to the additional pumpkins.

I really, really like this update. I'm so glad Tour de Pizza decided to give us some official, fresh content. I know you don't like Tricky treat, but it's not technically a level, it's more a goofy challenge.

there is a third secret level in the game where if you take the ghost power in trickyr treat and go back to the start with it you unlock a third level

The update was not released randomly, McPig had to complete a run of DK64 Randomizer in order to release the update, which took 7 and a half hours to do.

Hey Triple S, they updated the game with a few little details, and one of them is that they put a Granny Pizza in the first room of Tricky Treat before you start it, and she says "Pay attention to the color of the arrows! The green arrows point to a pumpkin on the main path, and the blue arrows point to a pumpkin on the side path!" Also Tricky Treat isn't supposed to be a full on level, but just a short challenge level. They also didn't hide the pumpkins anymore, so yeah btw i subscribed and ringed the bell

Since this is Halloween's update I hope we get a Christmas one with new level (Which follows the standard formula) based off of Strong Cold or a new level which is Christmas themed. Maybe unlocked with a Candy Cane collectable which you get by beating a time in each level.

When tricky treat does not have a ranking system, it's pretty easy to catch on that it's not supposed to be ranked in any normal level tier list.

You could make a similar argument for CToP and SotW because they don’t have any major collectibles and/or are just re-used content. If you’re crazy you could even say that WAR lacks Pizza Time, a core mechanic of the game, and therefore isn’t comparable to the rest. And yet Tricky Treat has chef tasks while others of the ones I just mentioned don’t. It’s impossible to discern where the line is drawn and I want to discuss every platforming challenge in the game so I include everything.

2:17 Let me explain how what the arrows mean, the green arrows tell you how to get to the exit (hence the green one at the beginning), the blue arrows are for the optional routes for the other pumpkins. It’s not really told directly and I only figured it out from playing Tricky treat.

Thank you for the explanation, I did not notice that! That makes it marginally better, but the colors are still totally arbitrary and like you said their meaning isn’t something you’d realize until after you’ve already sunk a large amount of time into the stage, and even then there’s a chance you’d never realize it. But again thank you for the observation!

I know I ranked it pretty low and I stand by that but nowadays it’s probably the level I play the most frequently. It’s just a lot of fun and it’s a good warm-up for the other levels because it has all the secrets.

@@filipisagamer8144 nah, not really. It’s still fun, and I like that they made it easier to tell where to go in a patch, but it’s still ultimately a minigame that doesn’t entertain me as much as a full level.

I might be the only on to make this Connection Because of the lack of the combo, toppins John and gerome I’m pretty sure tricky treat is supposed to be a new boss battle instead of a regular stage The stage is very reminiscent of dragon lair the original boss level of floor 1

I thought your placement of Tricky Treat rank wise was fair, but I disagree that thew signs need to be numbered, as soon as you realize you need to follow the blue signs before the green signs, you're golden!

It’s true that the coloration of the signs helps, but actually figuring out what the coloration means without being told is easier said than done. Most people have already just memorized the layout before they figure out what the colors mean.

personally i disagree with the tricky treat placement (also the fact that it's on the tier list at all) because it's more of a gauntlet and not really a level, it was just a little fun gimmick to the update

Yeah like I said it’s more of a minigame than a level but I had to put it on the list because it is comparable to the normal levels in several significant ways, and people would’ve just kept asking where it placed if I didn’t say.
