Reviewing Andys Greek Taverna In London

After all the great reviews I had seen, I was looking forward to eating at Andy's Greek Taverna in Camden. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed with my experience.

That's a shame, I watched Gary Eats and he loved it. Having lived over there for a couple of year I miss a good meze!

I remember doing a mixed grill for a dinner party in the early 80s. I did. Ambm chops steak gammon liver sausage chicken chips pea's onion rings egg .and other stuff .with a veggie soup for starter and cheese cake for dessert. I think everyone loved it take care your meal today.3/5

Hiya Michael, did you watch Gary Eats review of Andy's Taverna, I think Gary gave it 9 out of 10, I'm quite surprised that you said it was disappointing

Hi Paul, yes I did watch @garyEats review. That's one of the reasons why I decided to "Give it a go" 😜I had just come back from Athens and was really looking forward to eat. As I said at the end of the video, it's possible that I just caught them on a bad day but I still needed to give my honest opinion. I might go back sometime in the near future and give them another try.

At least the flavoure are there. When i go I'll ask them to ensure everything is oiping hot and fresh off the grill.

Actually, it's quite traditional to serve some foods at room-temperature in Greece (especially in the less touristy regions, ie: away from the capital area's) due to climate/excessive heat, etc. It's not neccesarily a sign of bad cuisine, more of a cultural norm. I imagine this place receives rave-reviews due to it's authenticity & trueness to a Greek experience, but yes, I think it might take a bit to get used to if it's not what you're expecting - hopefully a 2nd visit & review will yeild different results/expectation! Thanks for sharing!

I hear what you are saying but London is not exactly known for being in a hot climate. Even when I had Greek food in Athens fairly recently it was hot. Nevertheless I shall visit again soon to see if it was a one off.
