All of the second round matchup is so good and so close. All series to be decided in 6 or 7 games. Kind of makes up the lacklustre first round.

@@MattAlbieyeah I wholeheartedly took them as a first round exit and in 5 games to Edmonton, just the way they played was more disappointing than I thought it would be. Skinner getting a shutout reflects more on how bad LA was on offense more than him being stellar in net.

After the frustration of game 4 I just assumed we'd get finished in 5 but the more my rational brain kicked in I thought we'd see something like this from the Avs. This core never goes quietly into the night, they are very difficult to finish off when their back is against the wall. Whatever happens from here on out its been a good year

Manson is not inteligent though. I dont care about hits. He tends to turn it over at the worst possible time and it costs them. His decision making is suspect. But he does play well from time to time.

Makars second goal was deflection from defenders stick. It was meant to be pass to Lehkonen. That's why Oettinger was slow to react.

Edit: the playing Creed to try and channel the Texas Rangers’ World Series energy…taking another team’s rally song, no matter if it’s through different sports, almost never works. Have to say that I have noticed one weakness in Jake Oettingers game. Believe both Vegas and now Colorado have noticed. He gets lost when the play goes behind the net and is either very indecisive which contributes to him being or he is just incredibly slow moving from post to post. The wrap around attempts will continue. Makar had to have tried nearly 5 times tonight.

@heathclark318 Also can't keep his stick on the ice when he flops. Lets in min two goals per game through the five hole. He also doesn't come out enough to challenge shooters- leaves top corners too open. We need a serious goalie upgrade before we can make it through the second round of playoffs.

Jake Oettinger was abysmal tonight. Silver lining is that he plays lights out on the road and after bad games. Dallas has to end this on Friday or they will lose in 7. That blown lead in game 1 will haunt them if they blow this series . Game 6 is gonna be one for the ages

@@mortecai222the stars are a great team. But it seems to me that every stars win has come when Colorado has played poorly. Game 1 was the only game where I felt both teams played pretty well and CO capitalized. Games 2-4 Colorado played poorly and let Dallas play. Dallas didn't have a terrible game last night, sure they could have played better, but overall they played pretty good. But it seems to me that when Colorado looses it's more because they are not talking to each other or gripping their sticks to tight. If Colorado played every game like they did last night, this series would be over.

That is a surprise. Avs came out and played hockey. Wild what happens when they decide to play. Stars had more PPs, including a 6 on 4 and couldn't capitalize on it. So the refs were not favoring one team over the other.

Will say that I wasn’t a big fan of the tanev penalty call, obv it was a cross check to the face and drew blood can’t argue that, but it should’ve been a 4/4 offsetting penalty because Rantanen came around the net and cross checked tanev after the play and he reached hard for it, tanev just responded to him doing it(which I didn’t like him doing) other than that I felt what they did call was fair

I think I figured out what “cycle” means. It’s when a team is in the offensive zone and control the puck for a good length of time?

cycling is a matter of moving the puck around and 2 - 3 players switching spots to find an opening by drawing out and tiring out the defence you can cycle it in different areas in the attacking zone for example cycling up high (d to d to winger) cycle it in the corner (winger to c to winger or winger to center to d) often the shape will be a triangle moving in a clockwise or counter clockwise direction depending on area to keep passing lanes open or they will use the boards to move it around
