And when you wash and dry, they will shrink a size... he fails to mention that. Size up unless you dry clean everything

Wash and then lay them out to dry: they should dry pretty quickly. If the fabric dries too stiff, I would put it in the dryer on a delicate cycle for 10 minutes max.

It’s for people that have oodles of money. I own quite a few pieces and some of them are ridiculously expensive. Inflation certainly hasn’t helped.

Hi David! As an avid fan of your channel I'm very fond of your Sunspel reviews. I myself bought a Sunspel Riviera Polo in navy a few years ago (2-3y) and the shirt now has huge troubles with discoloration. Do you happen to have the same problems? Especially with darker colours... I do not have to mention, that I'm a bit disappointed. Nevertheless, keep up the great work and thanks for your efforts! Greetings from Austria ;)

Love Sunspel! I bought a light blue toweling polo from Sunspel that has a ribbed collar and no breast pocket, that I felt was more screen accurate than the Orlebar Brown one. I did have to shorten the sleeves just a bit though.

Sunpel makes great stuff and you'd be well served wearing their products. However, for the price of their polos and shirts, you can go with a made to measure program and get a garment made to your body measurements and can customize many things like the collar, fabric, hem, etc. I don't see how Sunpel is worth it when what they sell is off the rack for custom prices. Why not just go custom?

David, is the blue polo you're wearing at the very beginning of the video the original mesh fabric version of the Riviera polo or the newer Sea Island Cotton Riviera version?

Just remember that ANYTHING you buy from UK or Europe in general you have to size up. EXCEPT for shoes! Size down on shoes.

I've never taken the plunge with the Sunspel polo, mainly because I'm conflicted on what size to get. David, I see youre wearing a small with a 40-41" chest, yet their size chart shows a small fitting 37-39". Can anyone else confirm how these fit? Thanks!

I have the medium Navy Sunspel polo and I am 41 chest with 33 waist which fits me well. The sizing on the Navy polo is very generous. I also have a Black in a large which is a slim fit. The quality of cotton is fantastic.

For comparison, I’m 5’6” athletic build and get suit jackets sized 38-40 short. My waist is 32-33. I purchased the navy Riviera Polo in Medium. It was ever-so slightly roomy and long out of the box but shrunk to fit perfectly after wife accidentally put it in the dryer 😮. Sleeves hit mid-bicep and overall length shrunk up just enough that I didn’t have to visit my tailor. I would not fit into a Small.

Apart from an Omega Seamaster 300 (GoldenEye Version), the Sunspel Riviera Navy Polo was my first Bond sartorial purchase. I don't think I had worn anything that luxurious before. You could skimp and buy something cheaper that looks the part but in this case, not much compares to a well fitting Sunspel Polo.

Hi David I love the polos and pants. Given the way the jacket was fitting -I probably wouldn't go for it unless it could be altered significantly enough to keep the shoulders from looking a bit odd when articulating your arms and the chest area in my opinion wasn't draping well. I’d probably just find a tailor and go the MTM route for the jacket. I do like the color combination and the overall style! At the very least it’s a point of inspiration for ideas when having something made.

Linen fits you perfectly. I love the first shirt (pale pink towelling) but its shoulder seams are popping and giving you villainous spikes (for lack of a better description) ha! Also loving the necklines on these. As a hairy guy I am self conscious about my chest hair popping out of the neck but regular polos are often cut too low in the neck, or the top button is too high.

I was shocked to discover a few years ago that I grew up only a couple of miles at most from the Sunspel factory in Long Eaton England. A small place called Sandiacre. In fact I worked in a place when I first left school only meters from Sunspel & I never new it was there.

Those are some really beautiful shirts. I like the way each one was made of a different type of material which makes for different looks. I don't think the jacket needs to be shortened however I would shorten the sleeves a bit. This video shows your smooth technique, you are a natural.
