Commodity is a vegan, cruelty free brand, and more affordable in comparison to other niche fragrance houses. I love their minimalistic bottles, and I've been super intrigued to test them out after seeing them all over KZbin and Instagram!

Milk and Gold are so so good. I find that the three scent spaces for each fragrance have different notes, so I want people to know that there are noticeable differences between personal, expressive, and bold.

I highly appreciate the fact you always emphasize 'On MY skin', because this really makes a big difference when it comes to perfumes. My sister and I could never wear the same fragrances because they smell completely different on my skin and on hers. I LOVE all the perfumes she has and they smell amazing on her, on my skin every fragrance she has is awful and as much as I love her perfumes I would never buy them for myself. The same goes for longevity. Some perfumes just project more and last longer on her than on me... I could splash the whole bottle on me and I can't smell it after 5 min, she sprays it twice and smells from morning to night... so the skin chemistry really makes a BIG difference.

So 100% true! The perfumes that smell magical on my family or friends sometimes smell like bug spray on me!! I mostly like to find perfumes that I can spray on clothes (as it lasts longer) I was sad about Ylang in Gold because of the shimmers in in BUT I wrote to M.Micllef and guess what???!!! They can make it for you with NO SHIMMER🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I just received my Commodity Exploration Kit and can’t wait to test them all. I just started with Gold after watching your review and I am in Love with this fragrance! For 10 minutes straight I could not believe how accurately you were describing these fragrances, including their first impression and their evolution over the first hour and beyond. I’m absolutely in agreement with your verdicts/recommendations for Gold, Velvet, Milk, Paper, and Moss. But girl when you hit Book my jaw dropped 😆 I cannot get far enough away from that scent. It must just absolutely clash with my skin because I have a visceral negative reaction to that one 😅 With that being said, thanks so much for so eloquently putting these scent profiles into words - will be following for additional recommendations and reviews! 👏🏼

Yes!!! I was guessing you’d like Gold. I fell in love with it early last year and had it as one of the best Vanillas for vanilla “haters”. I can see it being an “Anne” vanilla. I am so glad they didn’t go out of business…..🙌

Book lover here 🙋🏻‍♀️. I also love Gold and Milk. I loved hearing your opinion on Velvet. Velvet smells so smoky to me in the top. I kind of can’t with the burnt/smoky blast… but then it goes away and I do like the dry down.

Well, that’s it! I’m ordering the sample set 😆 I’m really intrigued by Milk now. I’d also be lying if I said I wasn’t avoiding this before because of the name. I’ve been feeling a bit left out of the marshmallow note craze but just can’t do the DNA of Love Don’t Be Shy, Sintra, etc. Hope this is the one 🤞🏼❤️

I'm a little late to the party but just received my sample kit. I expected to only love the milk one but mennn I'm obsessed with the Book scent! Can't stop sniffing it 😂. I'm shocked no one is talking about this one. I love milk as well but like the original the best. The expressive and bold are too sweet for me but they do last longer. Gonna order some bottles with black friday ❤️

I bought the big sample pack & I immediately fell in love with Milk Expressive, hands down as we speak I’m wearing it. So that was my first full bottle from this brand. I also loved Paper (Personal) - got me a full bottle. I accidentally bought a travel size of Book Expressive and wow!!!!! Instant love!! The opening, I love - but the dry down on my skin in Heaven. One thing about this house, it last and last on my skin and my clothes. I just purchased the Gold Expressive full bottle, travel size & candle set. @@jj9501 oh I totally understand bc my skin used to eat up fragrances. I’ve learned how to moisturize my skin. With Milk, I always use one of these - BBW Fireside Flurries, any VS Bare Vanilla or any vanilla or marshmallow scented Body lotion & spray first. I get a good five hours or so if I layer it (& I love that it doesn’t take away from Milk) but Book last much longer and I don’t need to moisturize. I just bought Gold so I’ll see if it’s long lasting. Plus, I don’t mind respraying - it all smells so damn good! Lol

The dry-down of velvet smells like Le Labo’s Rose; although I wouldn’t say I liked the opening, it was completely different. Book almost smells like Santal 33, and the dry-down of Moss smells like Bergamote 23

I’m waiting for my sample of Milk to show up. I struggle soooo much with fragrances. Most give me headaches. Originally I only really looked into Milk. But after watching this I think I will actually check out Gold as well. I may even just snag a full Expressive sample set! Also, off topic, but your makeup looks amazing! I love it.

Gold is absolutely DIVINE. If you get headaches, gold is the best choice. Milk is more “high pitched” in a way compared to gold if that makes sense. My mom has an extremely sensitive nose and gold is perfectly dense enough to not be irritating to her. It’s the best thing I’ve ever smelt but also doesn’t irritate. Milk has a bit more of a lasting alcohol smell than gold to me. Also I recommend putting on Vaseline before spraying onto skin because at least for me, it reduces the alcohol smell and the actual fragrance stands out more.

@@syn16 amazing advice thank you! I found milk to be okay. I like the smell from the bottle but it does not mix well with my skin. Smells okay on clothing though. I’ve definitely been wanting to try some of the other commodity fragrances. Which scent space of Gold do you use?

@@itscharliebee2307 just the expressive. To me, milk smells like vanilla Rice Krispies, but wow the gold is so warm and inviting and probably the best vanilla-Amber fragrance I’ve ever smelled. Also, this one is a bit of a reach for most but I recently fell in love with velvet expressive too. It’s smoky, but I woke up from a nap with some still on me (I got a tester kit) and that is also very cozy, matches my skin well, and blends with my vibe. Might have to buy a whole bottle now! But definitely needed to sit and grow on me.

@@itscharliebee2307 it’s worth it! You get a decent amount of sprays per sample bottle anyways to use what you like. My mom also liked paper but it is very very subtle. To me, moss and book were not my taste. Whenever you get your kit, let me know what you think of gold!

I was super excited to see this brand now ships to Canada, no duty fees! I'm hesitant though because clean perfumes have done me bad with weak scent with some bottles and reading through the reviews I noticed a few were people mention theirs had very weak scent compared to the sample they got. And these perfumes are not cheap!

Does Book smell like MM Replica Whispers in the Library? Does anyone know?

I find them quite different! WITL has a vanilla note and doesn't have that Santal 33 type of sandalwood. I also think Book has a bit more of an outdoorsy, maintain air vibe from the cypress and cedar. WITL gives me more of an "indoors" scent profile if that makes sense

I think you should try Paper+ this to me is much better than Whispers in the Library. I decluttered WITL, because Paper+ ruined it for me. 😂
