I knew that my skin had drastically improved but the night my boyfriend said "wow your skin is so clear and bright, it's glass-like" made me so happy. He wasn't even aware that the glass skin look is a thing now so that was a sweet compliment. A lot of the products I use now are things Dr. Drey recommends and a few things I found just worked for me.

This video literally describes one of the reasons why I love Dr. Dray. She critiques a product AFTER having tried it so she can see its effects and reads the ingredients lists as well, so that she can give us a well rounded review of the product. I hate when people in the skincare industry just judge a product by its ingredients list without trying it and then say its not worth it, to their huge audience who believes everything they say.

Definitely laughed out loud when you called it a “purple suppository.” Whenever I’m tempted to splurge on a Tatcha product I come to your channel for a dose of reality. Love ya Dr. Dray!
@kylebolton8147
@kylebolton8147 3 жыл бұрын
I think the best way to go is to never buy Tatcha. It’s just overpriced and irritating. You can get much better things from the drug store. Your skin doesn’t care what brand you buy from 😂 just what ingredients you give it.
@iliyerfinchh
@iliyerfinchh 3 жыл бұрын
@@kylebolton8147 uhmmm no they are dermatologist tested to specifically not irritate, and be anticomedogenic. Also mannyyyyy clinical trials are involved in all Tatcha products. Any irritation you see are the actives working within your skin and pushing any acne within your pores out to the top faster, in a similar way that a retinol would, seeing as everything that Tatcha bases their cleansers, serums, essence on light and gentle exfoliation. I suggest reading into why and how it works for your skin, I’ve been using Tatcha for the past few years. The dewy skin serum was the best acne clearing product IMO and now that I’m on doxycycline, Tretinoin, and azelaic acid, it’s one of the only line of products that doesn’t irritate my skin, and gives me the results it promises to.
@kylebolton8147
@kylebolton8147 3 жыл бұрын
@@iliyerfinchh I’m glad it works for you! I’ve never tried Tatcha but I never will. Every single product has fragrance and that is scientifically-known to be THE MOST irritating ingredient. Also, “dermatologist recommended” does not really mean anything in skincare, as that is an unregulated marketing term. I’m not trying to be rude to you, I’m just saying that buying fragrant ingredients is generally not a good idea - that doesn’t mean that their products can’t work for you, it just means that there is a higher risk of it irritating someone than a product without fragrance.
@micaelam4127

Having more time to experiment with skincare over the past 12 months, I’ve tried a wide variety of products including Tatcha, Missha, Cosrx, Neogen, The Ordinary, Dr. Jart, Drunk Elephant, Glossier, and more. I can honestly say that Tatcha has completely transformed my dry, dull skin. I love it and have to disagree with Dr Dray’s opinions on Tatcha products based on ingredients alone. I wish she’d actually try the products for a few days. One thing I will agree on is they are overpriced. I refuse to pay full price for anything and wait till I can find a promo code, Rakuten rebate, free product w/purchase, sales, etc. Doing so, I paid around $53 for the $88 dewy serum she mentions in this video. It’s amazing. ❤️
@kylebolton8147
@kylebolton8147 3 жыл бұрын
@@micaelam4127 I'm glad it works for you I'm just saying that what we can conclude scientifically is that those products have a higher risk of irritation. I hope it doesn't irritate you though and that it helps your skin.

Specifically products and ingredients aimed at reducing or eliminating bacteria that cause body odour. Personally not a fan of deodorants. Dr. Shah did a video sating Benzoyl Peroxide helps with smelly armpits. Are there other such ingredients that are also helpful?

Off topic: I love my CeraVe and Neutrogena skincare products that I use every day. They literally saved my skin a couple of years ago when I discovered I was sensitive to fragrance ingredients. However, this month the weather has been quite harsh with tons of snow and sub zero temperatures along with very dry air indoors. Despite my best efforts, my skin has been getting red and irritated again. I recently bought a tube of Vanicream's daily facial moisturizer to see if it would help calm down my skin. All I can say is this stuff is amazing!! The redness has calmed down and the dry/itchy areas feel more soft and hydrated. Love the ingredient list as well. I think this will be my 'winter' moisturizer until the weather warms up a bit. I still use my CeraVe everywhere else with no issues. :)

And speaking of 'Youth to the People', they also has a super fine mist/spray called "Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist" with Reishi, Ashwagandha, Hyaluronic Acid + Pentapeptides. It's pretty much the only thing from that brand that I love aside from their Superfood Cleanser. Yes love Alphacare from when they used to go by AlphaHydroxy, I use it in my body now that I am on retinol and can no longer use the glycolic acid on my face.

The Google Weather frog is so cute. Today, for the hot & sunny day in Melbourne (Australia) today, he is sitting on the beach (wearing his face mask) making sandcastles. I wish he would also have a beach umbrella, wear some sunglasses & apply some sunscreen! ☀️🌡🏖🐸🕶🧴

I used the Tatcha Dewy skin serum every day till it ran out and my thoughts are this, It is nice for those without fragrance allergies or sensitive skin but It never gave me the feel of a deep hydration. Everything felt very minimal in the sense of plumping and hydration. The plumping does happen with this product but only lasts 2-3hrs i've noticed. However, I paired it with Niacinamide and retinol at night and this is when it REALLY started to shine as this really was a nice soothing serum for the mornings and nights. I will not be repurchasing this product it was nice while I had it but the amount of pay off it gave wasn't worth the price. Hopefully others had a better experience with this on their skin journey but this is just my opinion about it :)

The “gritty” issue sounds like the same thing I’ve read in critical reviews of Skin Ceuticals physical fusion. I don’t know what it is but the FAB looks like a dupe for it except the SC is spf 50

I used the FAB oat toner and liked it at first and then realized that it was making my skin more prone to irritation when I applied pretty much any other product over it. Once I stopped using this, I no longer experienced stinging and burning from other products that I was applying after the oat toner. It was very disappointing considering it says "Safe for Sensitive Skin".
