I am a Canucks fan and I did not like some of the things I heard from oiler fans however those were in the very small minority. I'm sad we didn't win as if we had I had planned to be at the viewing party for this away game today but hey I'm torn on this, I want a Canadian cup yes, but I love Chris Tanev and want him to have success but since I don't like either Florida or the Rangers I'll chear for Florida there because they have 0 cups and I'll chear for whomever comes out of this series to defeat them.

You must have seen 97's comment on his miss on the empty net in OT? He basically said (notably to TNT, with Gretz/Henrik) four times in a row: "I gotta bury that." In the room after 1OT, he said he literally apologized to the boys saying: "That's brutal. I have to bury that." Sure enough in 2OT, 32 secs in he buries it. And he immediately credits Bouchard for his intelligence.
@Peksisarvinen
@Peksisarvinen 4 ай бұрын
He was not wrong. He HAS to bury that. ANY hockey player has to bury that. I'd be pissed at my grandmother if she failed to put that in the net. For the team captain and best player in the world, in game 1 OT of the conference finals, it's especially inexcusable. As was the horrendous penalty he took for another idiotic, careless stick infraction, and the numerous bad passes he made during the game. I really, really hope that the goal he eventually scored is the start of his redemption arc, but he has been absolutely terrible during the playoffs. I know he's second in points, but he was completely invisible in 5 out of 7 games in the Vancouver series, and had a measly two goals heading into yesterday. And that's not even getting into the innumerable terrible passes, which have to be in the dozens by now across the three series. Or the fact that he was the guy who could've stopped the JT Miller game winner in game 5 I think it was. That is NOT good enough for 12,5 million. He is the best player in the world. But the force pushing this team forward has not been him. It's been Draisaitl, Hyman (who willed another terrible pass from McDavid into the net yesterday), Bouchard, Nuge, Ekholm, the PK and so on. Which is good, in the sense that adding the normally dominant McDavid on top of that will make the team unstoppable. But that dominant McDavid has to show up first, and he hasn't so far.
@Traumatree
@Traumatree 4 ай бұрын
@@Peksisarvinen Relax, the call for high stick was dubious. The other penalty earlier for slashing hit the pads on the leg, not the arm - another bad call. The 4 drop-puck won by Edmonton that we stopped - wtf was that? The slashing on Skinner's head that went unnoticed, etc. McDavid is injusted just like Drais is, but they both carry on. Dallas, on the other hand played quite badly and with all the gifts they got from the NHL, shouldnt be there.

Blues fan since 1968. Live in San Antonio now. Spent $3800 for 4 nosebleeds at Enterprise Center in STL to watch Game 3 in the 2019 Finals. And, of course, the Blues lose 7-2. Crap! (At least there was a happy ending in Game 7 which I watched on TV!)

Shannon, while you have McDavid, Lemieux, et al, jerseys, I’m not that impressed. Honestly, you haven’t really reached the pinnacle until you get a Bob Plager jersey. “Number 5 on your program, Number 1 in our hearts!” And since you’re a Canuck fan, I understand you may not want a Plager. So, at least get a Harold Snepsts jersey! Preferably the black & orange graduation gown V !!! 🤣😝😂 Those McDavid, Lemieux etc jerseys just won’t stand the test of time like a Plager or Snepsts!!! 😂

The Oilers played a fantastic game and got damn lucky. Skinner covered our a$$ especially in overtime but Otter was amazing. Special teams. If Dallas had any powerplay luck they might have won in regulation but would have definitely won on the McDavid double but because the oil got their specials cooking they stayed in long enough to win. That was fun hockey. So many turnovers. Dallas has some crazy half wall stuff that makes me really scared looking at that slew of snipers they got. Man that Hyman goal. That guy fights for the lights. I can't help thinking that Kadri and Hyman would have been better help than Tavares, even as great as JT has been for the Leafs. Great video as usual. Thank you

Stankoven (#11) went behind the net where two teammates already were trying to box in the puck carrier, and McDavid said oh cool I’ll just glide to the slot and hope for a pass. Do the math: 3 vs. 1 in a 5-on-5 situation means *someone* will be open. And notice Stankoven’s head was immobile, not once did he check his rear view mirror. A rookie mistake, although I’ve seen a lot of puck-watching this year by vets as well leading to easy scoring chances.

Funny enough, I don’t think that low shot to right post had any room to go in. Also with the left post it didn’t look like he had anywhere else to shoot it but the outside of the near side post. Ekholm on the other hand actually had the goalie beat when he hit the crossbar. Call me biased if you want but not all posts are equal. Those OT power play posts were scary as hell as an oiler fan watching the game, so it was probably crushing to watch from the Dallas fans perspective so I’ll give you the pass here Shannon, but to bring up Draisatl’s quote “posts aren’t good goaltending” is definitely the Vancouver/Dallas fan salt coursing through your veins and coming out in the video haha Not all posts are equal.

Oilers have mastered the art of crapping their pants. It starts with a bad giveaway in front of their own net, then just hanging out with their now 1 goal lead until the opponent comes back to tie it somewhere between 5-8mins to go. It’s almost as if they rehearse it in practice. That said, they still played a good road game overall tonight, it’s just getting frustrating to watch them procedurally soil themselves regularly in the second half of games. The consistency of the pattern in which they do so is beyond stressful as a fan. You can see it coming every single time.

1) that 2nd goal never touched nurse it was off Dadonav’s stick 2) what rule enabled them to call McDavid for the high stick even though okay had continued with the oilers having possession? 3) does douchain being tied up with McDavid stick not factor into the call?

The reason it was called the way it did, was initially there was no penalty called, after the next whistle, the linesmen and referees talked and decide to call a double minor and have the play reviewed by the situation room. Personally, I though Duchesne head was below McDavid's shoulders at point of contact.

Good job Edmonton; I still have Dallas winning the series, but I'd love to see you guys take it. You've made a noticeable improvement on defense from the last few years, but I have no confidence in your goaltender.
