Long Dark has a shockingly small player base. Like project zomboid came out at around the same time and has like 15-20x the amount of players at any given time.

For Bleak bedroll, the cave doesnt have a 100% one. But as far as I know, a bedroll always will spawn in bleak. There are 4 possible locations now. Cave, 2 possible in cannery area, and then the lighthouse. Grats on 30k

8:36 this is actually because temperature is calculated at player location. not the location of any other object in a given scene. It's a strange implementation but I get why designed it this way.

Congratulations on 30,000 subscribers. Your videos are a major reason I am approaching 100 days in my current interloper run. I can deal with wolves, and hunt bears with confidence. Thank you for the work you have put in. I have had the silent stalker wolf attack. I think it was revenge for stealing his deer kill. I was near the wing moose spawn in TWM. I finished cooking the deer, it was dark, I was heavy, I was walking across the flat ground back to mountaineer's hut. I was chaining torches and had just lit a new torch. I walked for a bit then accidentally threw the torch and was instantly pounced upon. I won the struggle. I haven't checked for myself when harvesting meat, but I think interrupting meat harvesting to shred pieces doesn't work after they added the harvesting animation. I interrupted a quartering of a bear halfway through when I noticed the meat on the fire finished cooking and there were no meat bags.

Shredding from canceling no longer works but it is still possible to shred. You have to use a different method tho where you harvest the smallest you can. For example if a wolf has 4.1 kg you increase the slider all the way to 4.1/4.1 then decrease it all the way until it says 0.1/4.1 and you will shred like this. Only downside is this method is a lot slower with irl time because you have to go through the animation for each piece. Watched more of the vid and saw he explained the above method now I feel dumb writing all that xD

17:30 Zak, I think that the wolf that does not bark/alert is the same wolf that sometimes can happen during the day: the ambush wolf. I've noticed that the AI will sometimes redirect the normal pathing of a wolf to navigate towards the player while staying concealed behind trees. That wolf almost always pops out of nowhere and immediately charges.

Nice of you to take the time to do this. Most people would just forget about the outdated info. Still think the inside/outside fire mechanic is the least intuitive thing ever, but whatever 🤷‍♂️ Hopefully the Devs will add in some gyro aim one day, so us PlayStation players can get those quick reaction bow shots too. Aiming is still a bit clunky, kinda surprised they haven’t at least added a separate slider for aiming sensitivity vs normal camera sensitivity. But gyro aim like the Switch players apparently already have would solve that 🤷‍♂️

In reference to the “cheese” method for cooking, you can no longer make small slices, but only cut the amount you’re able to scroll to on the harvesting selection. Due to the new animations, you don’t actively cut while passing time/doing the animation. You only get the amount you selected once the animation FINISHES. If you cancel the animation you get no meat at all. This was tested on bags of meat only so idk if it works on carcasses, but knowing that all have added animations I assume it is the same. Correct me if I’m wrong!

Yes, as I explained in the video you can still get small pieces through the scrolling method. At least it worked for me when I tested it.

How the Cold Temp Burn Bonus actually works. When the ambient temperature where your character is (without the bonus from the fire) reaches -10C fires will start lasting longer than the time shown on the fire. As the temperature gets colder from that starting point of -10C the fire will last longer and longer up to reaching a max of 2x the shown fire duration at a temp of -30C. This affect does not work across load screens. So no, starting a fire in Trappers and going outside won't help fire times.

For wolf behaviour, I've no noticed any specific change in bahviour based on time of day, however I have noticed if a wolf notices you at close range, he'll charge straightaway, rather then go into stalking mode. This behaviour is the same whether it's day or night. I think the main difference is at night, because it's darker and the wolves camouflage in with the shadows better, you're more likely to have a wolf notice you at close range, and get that close range detection behaviour. Whereas during the day, low visibility weather notwithstanding, you can usually see them from far off, and they can see you from far off and you're more likely to get the stalking behaviour. However, in low visibility (blizzard, heavy snow, dense fog, or obstruction terrain or objects, you and a wolf can surprise each other and bypass the stalking mode. Think of it as you startled the wolf and he's reacting to you either by running away in fear (if you have fear clothes on) or instant reactionary charge. I had the same thing happen with a bear recently. I was up in the high plateau of Sundered Pass, and as I was approaching a snow bank, a bear was on the other side and I startled him and he instantly charged, instead of following and growling for a while like he'd normally do. I've neared to be cautious around obstructing terrain (eg snow banks, ridges, etc) and objects (eg buildings, trees, etc)

I think my favourite part of the game is the very beginning. I like a Custom version of Voyageur with Interloper starting gear -- to make the beginning more of a challenge, but there's still lots of loot to be had. But having said that, I do like bow-hunting, and then returning to my regional base and sitting by a crackling fire to cook venison. Very therapeutic.

Pretty sure I had a moose bleed out after 3 or 4 rifle shots… I was sitting on a large boulder upstream from crystal lake & he wanted to charge me but took off up a slight incline and turned around to mosey back down towards me & because he couldn’t reach me I waited for him to come back around to my boulder & reach the optimal shooting position… repeated the same thing 3-4 times and as I was bracing for him to make his way around the boulder he dropped dead before I could take my last shot 😢

Distress pistol can spawn in the Air Traffic Control tower ( I forget exactly what the location is named in game ) in Forsaken Airfield, usually on the top floor by the Shortwave Radio.

With the aurora wolf i had happened that i lit a marine flare aurora wolf saw me and ambushed me. But it can be that i was too close because he easily going behind the corner and saw me when i was quite close so maybe thats it 20:30. Also congrats on the 30k you deserve it!🎉
