Hi, You should on New and used Pans before use. Season them - After washing it, thoroughly rinse the cookware and dry it with a paper towel or soft cloth. - Heat each pan for 30 seconds on a low setting. Remove the pan from the heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the pan. Using a paper towel, rub the oil over the entire inside of the pan to season it. More times you do this. The better the Seasons will become.

A glass lid is the way to go when cooking eggs, they cook faster and the steam cooks the top or yoke so you never have slimey yokes or over cooked whites.

If you have to put oil, does that really mean non stick. You can use a cast iron with oil to be non stick.
@EtherealoNe13 жыл бұрын
Yes it still does. Just because you put oil in a cast iron or a stainless steel pan doesn’t mean nothing will stick at all. You also need much less for flavoring. Just because you use a non stock pan doesn’t mean you should never use oil or butter lol. I have used em all.

Hey Mare. I really love that it turns red when the pan is ready and hot. Yes, when you see scraping, that is not good to eat a lot of hot. Yes, always add oil to the pan. I really like my cast iron, but I am the same way. i want whatever that doesn’t stick my pan. We just recently got a set from costco and they are working pretty good. I love it. Oh wow, that is awesome that the fried eggs are just sliding around the pan like that. Its super non stick. Haha. Oh wow, lifetime warranty. That is awesome.

I have a TFal fry pan and sauce pan; and they perform better than any cookware I've ever owned. I have never been able to season cast iron so that it becomes non-stick. I bought a rather expensive stainless pan and after a few uses, it stained! I tried several scrubs and chemicals and the stain never left. Also, foods tend to stick. However, I'm concerned about the PFAs in the plastic coating. I checked and saw that the pans were supposed to be 'PFOA' free. Notice the 'O', as in perfluoro Octanoic acid. But I've begun to wonder if the mfr has pulled a fast one on us. Perfluoro octanoic acid is only one type of PFA. What if there are other PFAs in the pan's coating? These are just as toxic/carcinogenic as PFOA. Has TFAL removed the PFOA, but left other PFAs in the plastic? As a survivor of one testicular cancer, I don't want to get another.

These aren't even T-Fal's best. Their Platinum series are my favorite by them, along with the Tramontina Professional series. Both have thus far been the best I've used that can handle cooking steak which usually requires at LEAST 3/4 of the way up on a stove top, which for most non-stick starts to make them less and less non-stick over time, but also allows for eggs to slide off easily. For what it's worth, I NEVER cook with oils, only real grassfed butter and ghee over here. Those 2 I mentioned above, from experience, have been the best, even above Hex Clad, and yes, I have a HexClad fry pan.

Hi Mare!! Loved this tutorial!! I was gifted a set of T Fal pots and pans. The logo in the middle doesn’t turn a solid red when it’s ready to use and I’m afraid there’s something wrong with them. I hope not cuz I don’t want to take them back to the store. How long did it take for the logo to turn solid red on your pan??
@LifewithMare3 жыл бұрын
Oh no! It takes under 5 minutes I would say. Not complelty solid red but you can see it is way darker.
@thefuppits5 ай бұрын
This is three years late, but the center red of the pan we own never gets solid. We go by the old school... if water droplets dance around, the pan is ready - if water droplets simply evaporate, then it's not ready yet. Also, recommend regular seasoning with a little oil, I use avocado oil with it's high smoking point, in the pan when it's a bit warm, use a paper towel to move the oil around to cover the entire pan - will surely help maintain the non-stick. Honestly can say after almost a year of using this pan almost exclusively, NOTHING has even hinted at sticking to this thing. Take care of it, it will service you well.

What's the point of using a branded non-stick pan, if you use THAT amount of oil.

Hey! Yes, there are SO many different kinds 😩. Have you ever tried the copper pans? I’ve been curious about those. I hate when things stick to my pans. I actually have the T-fal brand pans. I’ve purchased the large singular pans from Costco and I like them. A couple months ago I got a 3-pack of medium to smaller pans and I love them. I just use non-stick spray or sometimes a little oil. Yes, in between eggs, pancakes, etc I do spray a little extra nonstick spray. Glad you like them...happy cooking!
