I have the same pan, the issue that made mine un-usable within a few months is the metal ring at the bottom. Liquid gets trapped between the actual stone and metal causing burn marks on the metal and my induction plate (which is now permanently damaged) and the metal plate at the bottom had a mini explosion and detached itself from the pan. Never again.

The way I make brats, is a cup (ish) of water, bring to a boil, put the brats in, cook, while flipping half way thru, until the water cooks out. Then keep cooking and flip again to get color on both sides. It's delicious but the end result in the Pan is cooked on fat from the brats. Cleaned up so easily! I love it!

I got tired of non-stick coated pans getting scratched when washing; good out of the box, but eventually wore out soon enough...So I now just use stainless steel, cast iron, and carbon steel cookware like pans and dutch ovens. Took some practice and time getting used to them (because food stuck a lot) but I'm glad I don't have to worry about microplastic coating bits like teflon getting into my food anymore, microplastics that will undoubtedly accumulate in the blood and family jewels (seriously, look it up). Cast iron and carbon steel are also healthy for you since they impart trace amounts of iron...supposedly good for women and people with anemia. Higher price, but cast iron will certainly outlive you in your lifetime if taken care of, even if they get ruined with rust because you neglected it; once you reseason it, it's as good as new. One of the few pieces of cookware you could pass on to your descendants, because they could last forever, as they're materials used since ancient times.

I have the "Carote" version of this pan. It does some things well and other things not so well. It is a weak performer on induction cooktops. If you use it on med-hi heat it just doesn't get as hot as other pans. However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing as this pan makes wonderful fried eggs, pot-stickers, and pancakes while on med to med-hi heat settings. If you try and up the heat level, the pan can't handle it and causes my induction top to turn itself back down a few levels. Always needs some lubrication for best results, but seems to offer good non-stick performance. Had it for two years now and the pan still works great and has a good surface condition. Starting to turn a bit brown in the center now though.

I purchased a generic non stick pan and it works great as far as being non stick. The biggest problem I have with it is on my gas stove if it's not just so the handle weighs enough that it flips the pan off the burner. I purchased an extra large granite stone pan because I had the size below it and it worked well. The larger one heats up very uneven, nothing seems to stick to it but because it heats so uneven it is hard to cook in it. They need to put a thick heavy disk on the bottom to distribute the heat better. That being said I've had some really expensive pans that didn't work well either.

So, I would try a different pan every time to see if I could find a cheap one that actually lasted. I finally did from the brand T-Fal. After 7 or 8 months it was still going strong, so I bought a second one for when the first wears out. After another year, I am STILL using the original. Sweetie, one important question from me: is there TEFLON in the pan?? Cause that is one of the things I'm really allergic of. Love your channel, thanks so much for all the reviews, warm greetz from an old rebel-Pinkie BTW: I use pans from the brand: GREENPAN!!

They have a 10" crape pan that is great for pancakes and heating tortilla. Same non-stick coating.

It's not about how well these non-stick pans do right out of the box, it's how non-stick they continue to be over the course of a few months. For example, I love the Gotham Copper pans at first, but a few months later they have stuff stuck all over them and I had to throw them out. Meanwhile my Granite pan is years old and still going strong. It would be great if you could do a special "Pans months later" review as well. I know you do your "1 year later" stuff, but I'm more interested in the pans later than anything else.

The main thing with adding oil is that you're mainly just using it for a better transference of heat. Both examples cooked well, but you can see how it didn't cook the entire bottom of the pancake when using oil in a non-stick pan. Let the non-stick do its job, works well.
